I will get around to explaining the cracktitude of that subject line, yes, in a minute. But first, I squee about my day. Because it was good. I had a nice relaxing bath, I went over to help
albireo and
miishal move (which almost gave me heatstroke, but the last walk back to
billietallent's was actually nice, because this huge wind pcked up out of nowhere.
janus14 picked me up and I went to see Dead Man's Chest - that gets a (SPOILERY!) post to itself, later - with
zsofica, a freind of hers name eludes me for the moemnt,
dofunkychickens, and
christianmystic who went in costume, reusing his Captain Reis costume from last Halloween. (I had a dream last night that it was halloween, and halfway through the dream I realized I hadn't even started to get my Stark contume together and wondered where the hell the time went: a few hours ago it seemed like July. Interpret that as you will.) We all went for coffee after the movie, I had an iced Cap (though judging by the headache I had later they "enhance" those - I'd forgotten) and shared Zsofi's Timbits - which means today I've eaten a grand total of a donut at 3pm, a hotdog at 8 pm, and ten Timbits at 11pm. UmmmHmmm. Well, I got a fair bit of excersize, anyway...
Anyway, when I got back home, I got some of the best news of all today - THE LATEST CONVERSATIONS WITH SMITH CHAPTER IS UP!!!!!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! *fangirl flail* Today was the day of fangirl flailing, really. It's what I do. (Oh, and yesterday/earlier today I got caught up with all of Doctor Who - just have confidentials to see now. Watched Idiot's Lantern, Impossible Planet and Satan Pit all together - which were not anywhere near as bad as I'd expected from hearing people bitching about them. In fact, IP/SP was one of the better two-parters I've seen from the new seasons. Some very awesome stuff in it. Felt like a classic sci-f movie thriller, blended with a Dr Who episode. Lovely. And as for IL, can we please have that kid, what was his name, Tommy? as a companion? NOW, please?
That's all the "Real content" you're getting today, folks - the rest is meming. Feel free to skip.

I'm going to forstal the inevitable (and irritating as all fuck, by the way) exclamations of "you've never seen [fandom sacred cow]!!???" with the gentle reminder that I DO NOT RECIEVE ANY TV SIGNALS ON MY TV! I CANNOT AFFORD CABLE! THE NUMBER OF STATIONS YOU CAN GET EVEN WITH AN ANTENNA IN CANADA IS LAUGHABLE, AND MY TV DOESN'T EVEN HAVE ONE! If I want to watch a TV programme, it has to be good enough for me to track it down on DVD/download it. And I can geneally only afford DVD rentals once a month or so. This has been the case for the entirety of this decade. Now reread that list with that firmly in mind. Thank you.
Childhood meme:
1. Post a silly / interesting / cracktastic thought you had as a kid about how the world worked.
True story, I only wish it wasn't: in second grade, havng seen a picture of the male reproductive organs, a freind of mine wondered out loud wondered what on earth the balls could be for, whereapon I informed her, with unshakeable confidence and ultimate authority, that that's where they keep the pee - boys peeing more than girls, you see. She was very impressed by my superior knowledge.
2. Name the most beloved childhood item that is still with you today.
Books, of course. Most specifically the Princess Elizabeth Gift Book, created to raise money for a Children's Hospital in London in 1935, and is in fact older than my mother - she inherited it from her older sister. Quite a few other books - I managed to hang on to most of them. Precious little aside from that - only two blankets; all my toys did not survive my Stepmother's Sensibilities. Grrr.
3. Beyond childhood--who were you in a past life (whether you believe in it or not)? Let your flist decide.
*snerk* This could be interesting....
Today was one of the good days, people.
-John Crichton, Through The Looking Glass
