Headache, Not the WoM Reaction Post, Edward Woodward, Hot Fuzz

Nov 17, 2009 19:30

I have gotten precicely frell-all accomplished today, thanks to a spilitting headace. Grr. Though in the case of my Waters of Mars reaction post I have another, better reason: I'm still very conflicted as to what my reaction is. I need to chew on it some more, preferribly when my skull doesn't ache. OW.

Oh well, at least it's not a migraine.

Other stuff: apparently Edward Woodward died yesterday (aw) at the ripe age of 71. He was STILL WORKING. Bless'im. For those of you going "WHO?" Mr Woodward was probably best known as The Equalizer, but he also (hilariously enough) played the leason of the NWA in Hot Fuzz. Husband (being a huge Equalizer fan) just about had a coronary when he found out and said he would probably re-watch my (BRAND NEW EARLY BDAY GIFT COPY, EEEEEE!!) of Hot Fuzz while I was at work - which is bloody astonishing considering I though I made him sick to death of it the seven times I watched it when it was lent to me.

(Yes, I have discovered Hot Fuzz. And fallen in love with Nicholas Angel Not Simon Pegg, mind you - though I am deep in admiration. Oh and I finally got around to watching ALL of Spaced - loved it to death, of course)

Anyway, other thing Edward Woodward was in that had me going GABBAWHA?? ...he's the Sultan from Aladdin. Yeah.

Godspeed, you lovely man, you.

So, this entry already way longer than indended, will sign off now.Am also apparently talking like Rorschach/Bridgit Jones. Cannot be good sign.

"Well, I wouldn't argue that it wasn't a no holds barred, adrenaline fueled thrill ride. But, there is no way you can perpetrate that amount of carnage and mayhem and not incur a considerable amount of paperwork."
-Nicholas Angel, Hot Fuzz
