Well first of all, thanks everyone who voted in
the last poll, I've decided to do the following: since I changed one of the clues because it was too vauge before, I've decided to give folks 24 hours (or, you know, as close as to when I post again) to guess the remaining clues. So
give it a shot if you want to.
Moving on...
I've been active in Dragon Cave again, and I've got a new clutch for you all to fawn over and CLICK!!
That's a stone (I was trying for a Geode; oh well, I've got 3 breeding pairs I can try again in a week), a frilled (YAY!!), and two whites I got from the adoptions page by accident - what the hell, I like wihtes.
And now, the meme.
Comment to this post and I will give you five subjects/things I associate with you. Then post this to your LJ and elaborate on the subjects given
wonderwhatif gave me:
Stark!
Oh, wow, what can I say? I love this little tortured soul. I love his journey, I love that he never gives up hope for the love of his life; that in his case death truly cannot stop true love, only delay it for a while. I love his twisted insane logic, I love his spirituality: that he knows there is something beyond this life, because he helps us get there. I love his selflessness: taking on the pain and darkness of other's souls, giving them peace. And I love his detiny: helping to create peac in the galaxy, and gaining peace of his own. And I love that's he's played by a smoking hot talented actor with a voice like sex. AHEM.
Cats
KITTEHS! I love cats. I was raised by with one. Back in the day, I spent more time on the floor with Rosa, meowing and purring than up on my feet talking to people. I was crushed when she died. I am fascinated by cats, thier beauty and aloofness, thier sleek preditory natures and thier affection for us. The greatest sorrow in my current living situation is that I can't have cats of my own. I live vicariously through my friends, and thus know (or knew! *sniff*) Thea, Obie, Skeezix, Ember, Dart, Tribble, Ash, Smoke, Nokki, Tessa, Claudia, Vic, Jasmine, Roy, Bonnie, and many more (whose names sadly escape me for the moment) as well as I possibly can from a distance.
Star Trek
Oh my. ST and me go waaaaay back, as far back as I can remember I was watching re-runs on CBC on sundays. Uhura, Chechov, and Scotty were my faves (and still are!) and I beleived with all my heart that we get out into space one day, make peace with new life forms we found out there. And when I was seven, wonder of wonder, we got NEW Star Trek stories with a new crew, different but recognizable, and I grew to love them even more dearly. And then DS9, which was a little darker, but still Star Trek, brought more characters and stories to love. And when I was 14, Star Trek gave me a female captian, a bright vibrant character I took right to my heart. My Captian. My idol. My Role model. Star Trek and I parted ways due to losing TV access halfway through Voyager's run - which sadly seems to be for the better in a lot of ways, judging by some of the things they did to my Kathryn but it came back again. I have mixed feelings about Enterprise - it feels like Star Trek a lot of the time, but sometimes it goes off and does inexplicabble things. Maybe someday I'll catch up on everything I've missed, but untill then, my old favourites aren't going anywhere. And I am cautiously excited about the new movie, but God knows JJ has screwed me before. >:P
And then (because we really just met) she ran out of associations, so asked me about:
Religion
I am a devout Christian. Specifically I am a member of
the United Church of Canada, though presently congregationless. I worship in solitary, and do all I can to uphold
The New Creed in my own life. I beleive very strongly in things like Doing Onto Others ONLY as I would have done onto me, and Loving my fellow sentients, and proclaiming the work of God. The creativity of humans is, BTW, one of the works of God, so when I Squee, it's a religeous observance! XD I do not beleive in any of the following things: determining if another person is going to hell (that's God's job), interpreting the bible as sacroscant and literal (that's just kind of silly when Jesus told us what the important parts were), forcing people to see the world as I do (that goes against the free will God gave them and the beauty of the diversity of creation) and generally using my faith as an excuse to be an ass (Jesus says: DON'T BE A DICK). Bits of other beleif structures that I have adopted because they work for me and don't contradict anything in my core faith are: anamism (God is one, God is many, God is you, God is Me, God is LOVE); ain thou harm none, do as thou wilt; meditation; the flow of life energy/ki/chi; soulbonds/inner voices/muses; the possibility of life on other planets; the scientific method; the healing power of chocolate; the possibility of reincarnation; ghosts; (some) psychic powers; the seperation of church and state; and a lot of other stuff. If you'd like more information, please ask. :)
aaaand talk about your favourite country!
Canada! I love my home and native land. We have our problems (especially now) but I love and respect the ideals we were founded on (Peace! Order! Good Government!), I love that we were founded without a war, I love notre deux langes officiel and I love our culture, the crazy mish-mash of English, French, American, Native, various immigrants and just plain Canadian that means my name is spelled with a Zed, I wear a toque when it's cold, I had a toboggan as a kid, I drink a double-double from Timmy Ho's to wake up, I can get perogies (but not booze!) from any supermarket, and if I had a million dollars, I would buy you a green dress (but not a real green dress, that's cruel). I don't own a flannel shirt, I don't give a fuck about hockey (but I can and do follow curling on occasion), and I know that wihle a Mountie always getting his man is encouraged, officially they're mandated to Maintain the Right. I have explored much of our natural beauty, but there's such a damn lot of it to see! I hope to visit every province and territory at least once in my life; I'm a little over half done. :)
If I had to pick a favourite Country besides my own, I would pick Australia. I've had a fascination with it since I was a kid, and then, yes, the whole Hugo and Paul thing happened, and that was that. Its natural beauty, its culture and art, its history: the more I see the more I love it. So yeah.
Hope that helps your curiosity!
