Eee! You're watching it! And I'm so glad you're enjoying it! I swear, one of these days I'm expecting somebody to check out that show on my say-so and come back with a raised eyebrow wondering WTF I'm so enthused about. :)

And I am now going to proceed to respond to your reactions in excruciating detail, because it's me, and I'm obsessed.

was that Jarod was a kid, or at least a teenager, during the series.

Ha! Well, he is very kid-like, in a lot of ways, and, of course, we see a lot of him as a kid in the flashbacks. But, man, this would be a very different show if it were about a teenager. :)

But I hold out hope for this being all filed in with flashbacks; they're reeeeeeeeeally good with them so far.The flashbacks... Well, they tell you a lot of things, and leave a lot of things mysterious... and create all kinds of new mysteries in the process. I wouldn't hold out hope of ever being filled in on everything. :) Actually, at least as far as I've seen up to, most of Jarod's adult life, pre-escape is sadly neglected. I ( ... )

I think perhaps we've captured another one, Astro.

*rubs hands together gleefully*

I really am starting to get a little freaked out by how effectively this whole thing has spread, and how many people it's sucked in so effectively. :)

Given that this is RSR, it's probably going to by a Cylon toaster.

I suggested a Darth Vader toaster. :)

I think this show is too brilliant for that. Even people who aren't hyper enthused about it have got to recognize that it's well done.

Actually, at least as far as I've seen up to, most of Jarod's adult life, pre-escape is sadly neglected. I only recall a couple of episodes that dealt with it.

Right now, I'll take it! I've seen all of s1, and I'm still "anything after age 12, PLEASE!"

The guy's utter, utter adorkability just proved irresistible. :)

If adorkable were in the dictionary, Jarod's picture would be next to it right above Paul's

Complicated, and fucked-up, and wrenchingly sad, and incredibly moving, IMO.

And the whole thing with Jacob (and later KYLE) makes it even MORE complicated, fucked-up, and incredibly moving.

Heh, yes, he does remind me a lot of Luke -- man, I'd love to see them together in a crossover! Wasn't it Jarod you had in your brain who was ( ... )

I have heard from a few people who gave it a shot back in the day and found that it didn't really do much for them. Which I can respect, especially because I do think the best things about it aren't really on the surface. :)

Wow, you really are blazing through!

The S3 ep I just watched had a really good adult-Jarod flashback that finally really filled in some stuff. So, hey, patience pays off. :)

It so would! And, IMO, Sydney has some adorkable moments, himself. :)

Seriously! And that's before you even get into some of the stuff in S2. ;)

Well, that's fair. I suppose at first blush it can come off as formulaic or preachy.

Wow, you really are blazing through!

*grins* I tend to do my viewing of a show I'm really into in 4 or 5 episode chunks. Unfortunately I'm going to be waiting untill next tuesday for s2, because we only see the person we're borrowing them from on tuesdays, and mike wasn't finished as of yesterday.

True, very true. Sydney is growing on me, I find.

Yup. He adored it. Both because it was fun, and because it had heartwarming family stuff. :)I imagine on some level he really envies Luke. "Enemy of the Bane" as watched by ( ... )

And in fairness, in many ways it is really formulaic, and I think you could make a good argument for "preachy," too, if you wanted. What impresses me is that it makes that stuff work. :)

Ah, well. I've found a break between seasons to be good for the brain, anyway. :)

I'm learning that with this show...

Just, uh, don't expect that it will eventually answer all your questions, or that everything will come together to make perfect sense in the end. I have been warned about this repeatedly, so now I pass the warning on to you. :)

He'll do that. ;)

I imagine on some level he really envies Luke.

I think he does, yeah.

"Enemy of the Bane" as watched by Jarod must be REALLY interesting, what with the BS Ms Wormwood pulls.

I recently had a disturbing experience of watching Nero Wolf episodes with the Arvin Sloane in my head critiquing the bit characters being played by Ron Rifkin.

So if you're crazy, so am I. (I think we knew this already. XD)

Sydney, of course, is in the dictionary next to "awesome".

And Broots, also the definition of adorkable. Really, this show has an incredibly high rate of adorkability. :)

It's true! Ms Parker manages to have a moment or two of adorkability.

I think they slip in into the water at the center.

Mr Raines, ovbs, cannot drink pure water; his has to be laced with toxic waste, which kills the adorkability. TRUFAX.
