poems = yes

Some stuff is happening around here. I turned seventeen, took my two precious AP exams, and closed my first big musical ever. Uh-oh, saying "my" musical makes me sound like one of those stupid judgemental theater people who are like, "Yeah, hey, um, maybe you could have showed up on time? Maybe, just this once?" when you are late because you were busy being cool. Well TAKES ONE TO KNOW ONE probably

I guess I don't want to be a teenager for too much longer. There's a lot of emotional waste and incoherency that could be used for something good. Like . . . saving baby turtles.

OR I want to be a teenager for the rest of my life, right now, forever.

No, that's a lie. A dirty, dirty lie.

Anyway, I'm glad all of the crap is over. And I use the term "crap" affectionately. I really did have fun doing "Urinetown." Well who WOULDN'T, I know you're all thinking. What with the urine. I changed a lot. I found a lot of people I like. I revived my useless clarinet skillz. It's been a lot of really hard work for a long time, and it was fun.

flustering around my house
with a wide-open mouth
i am breathing as heavily as a clam flustering in sea-gray water

i breathe for peace and hunger
my sister breathes to speak
my brother breathes to play his drums

we all meet together around the center of the board
while my mouth rattles open
and our hands join in a simple prayer
