Supernatural Season 7

I haven't made too many of my feelings known about season 6 or how I felt about how things were left at season's end. I'll cut to the chase and say I wasn't very happy. My discontent primarily stemmed from the direction of Castiel's character. I didn't like where things had gone and had no trust in the writers to take me in a direction I would find satisfying. Over hiaitus, I calmed down and considered season 6 and realized there were quite a few episodes that I really enjoyed and it wasn't the steaming pile of shit that I claimed it was immediately after the finale. And I began to get a bit excited about the season 7 premiere and was eagerly anticipating the surprises we would have in store for us tonight. Before I go further, I just want to ask all who read this to keep in mind that this is all personal and is not a comment on anyone else's viewing experience.

I'm not going to get into specifics so this isn't a detailed analysis of the episode or an episode review per se. I did want to comment on a few things however. First, I did not see this coming. I was very happy to see Castiel again, however briefly. But the leviathans? No. Not even a little bit. Second, CROWLEY! I love Mark Sheppard to distraction and to see Crowley back in the first episode of the season gives me great hope that he will be around throughout the season. Third, poor Sammy! He is in so much trouble this season. Fourth, Death is a badass!! Love him so much!

Overall, I have to say that Misha Collins knocked it out of the park tonight. I was so impressed with him, I don't even have the words. Also, I've made a conscious decision to remain hopeful about the season and try to enjoy it as it comes. I'm going to try really hard not to gripe and groan about every little thing and not to take things that happen on the show personally. Fingers crossed that I can hold firm in that decision and not get too upset if things go all wonky.

I haven't posted much lately but the premiere of Supernatural was tonight so I thought I would jot down a few thoughts.
