Title: It’s Not That Easy - Sticky Sweet (3/3)
Pairing: Callie/Cristina Friendship, Calzone
Rating: R
Summary: Based off of Sticky Sweet : Erin McCarley

a/n: I got a few requests for a sequel to It’s Not That Easy . Sequel I couldn’t do, a few more chapters also based on some other EMac songs, I could do. Lovesick Mistake is Chapter 2.

It's been awhile since I had the time to write, but this was half written and seeing as it's the last chapter, it really needed to be finished. I started it a while back, long before the Arizona birthday revelations, so sorry for the time line alterations. Again, if the dialogue is odd, it's because I pulled from the song lyrics :).

"Great, you're here, now what genius?"

Callie raked a hand through already tousled curls. A throat clearing behind her made her whip around. Arizona was staring at her, lips pursed and an eyebrow arched. It was the look she reserved for her pre-teen patients who were still sick yet well enough to be a tad unruly.

"I…I need to talk to you." Callie began.
"You said that already."

'Oh yes, your confidence is rolling off you in waves, Torres'

Callie shook her head and remembered what Cristina had said. Just say it.

"I love you too."

Arizona's eyes widened before she snorted a laugh and shook her head.

"Get out."
"What?" Callie said, eyes burning.
"Get. Out."
"But…"
"You think after the way you bolted from the hospital, that you can just come in here and... announce that and everything is going to be just peachy?" Arizona scrunched up her face in frustration. "Just like that?"
"No, I was sc…"
"Scared. You think I wasn't? Really Callie?"
'Callie? Damn, I hate when she calls me that. Fix it, Torres, Fix it now or...' The brunette's eyes burned harder, tears filling them.

"Just go."

Callie started for the door, pausing just after she passed the blonde.

"For the record, I don't just love you, I'm in love with you…You, you color my worst moods from gray to the most brilliant blue and turn every tear into a sweet, sweet existence." Callie's voice broke. "I don’t wanna hold off anymore because I’m inspired by your off-beat perkiness, your unconditional optimism, you never fail to make me feel what it's like to be that fortunate someone. I was scared, Ari, I couldn't help it, you were getting to me."

Arizona's breath hitched as her face crumpled into a steady stream of tears. She heard Callie sniff softly and start again for her front door.

"For the record, Calliope, I was just as scared as you were. I get these brilliantly colored heart shaped… melodies in my head just because you're near me. I can't help but be intoxicated by your sweetness that’s hidden underneath that hard Ortho exterior." Arizona turned, seeing Callie had stopped inches from her door. She took a breath and closed the gap between them, stopping a hairsbreadth from the brunette's back. "I have never been able to just be with someone in some sort of… silver lined glow of… happiness, content just to be."

The shorter woman reached for Callie's wrist, turning her about face and reaching to brush tears away. She shook her head, forcing her own tears away.

"I know you're scared. But I surrendered myself to you and you ran away, you always run away." Arizona tucked a lock of hair behind Callie's ear. "You have to trust me to not cheat on you, to not just…walk away. To not…just leave you standing alone somewhere, wondering what just happened, like you did me in the hospital."

Callie visibly cringed and brought her hands to cup Arizona's face.

“Every time I get too close, they go away. Everyone goes away from me. I couldn't handle it if you left me, I couldn't make it out of a hole that deep. You make up so much of my world, if you left it, I would have nothing."

The blonde tilted her head, absorbing this new information, understanding far more in the short statement than she thought she should.

"I'm not going anywhere, but you have to trust me when I say that."

Callie nodded, smiling slightly.

"Ari?"
"Hm?"
"I'm sorry."

Arizona smiled and shook her head.

"I'd say it was okay, but it really wasn't, so I'll stick with you're forgiven." She arched an eyebrow. "But don't ever do it again."

Callie nodded again and leaned forward, catching the blonde's mouth with her own, sighing into the kiss. Arizona pulled back, linking her fingers through Callie's.

"C'mon, I'll take you home."
"I don't want to go ho...ohhh."

The Orthopod's protest was cut short as Arizona let go of her hand and began stripping as she walked down the hall towards her bedroom. Arizona turned, walking backwards, and threw the white tank at Callie's head.

"This is my secret, Calliope, my home, my sanctuary. I let you in because I can't get you off of my mind or my body, even when you're not around physically, you're here."

Callie took four long strides to close the distance between herself and the blonde before pushing her up against the shut bedroom door, catching her in her arms as she did. Gently tracing Arizona's jaw line to her ear, she fought to stop the hammering in her chest.

"Take me home, Ari, to your secret, your quiet," Callie caught an earlobe between her teeth and tugged slightly. "To your wild sanctuary."

Fire burned brighter in the blue eyes that the brunette had become so taken with and Callie found herself pressed against the door being ravaged. Clothes were shed and strewn in the short space between the door frame and the bed. The ceiling fan, set to a low speed, did nothing to stave off the sweltering air that soon filled the room. Hands, fingers, lips, tongues- all delved into places they'd been before but this time it was new. It was primal, demanding and claiming. Marks were made along with promises- promises not to be broken, promises of a future. Hours later, they lay tangled in sheets and in each other, an imperceptible amount of steam on the street facing window.

"Calliope." Arizona said, her voice slightly hoarse from exertion.
"Mmm."
"When you touch me, bells ring and angels sing..."

Callie smirked, taking it for the odd compliment it was, before making her face serious again. She turned her head and searched for the eyes she loved.

"Ari..."
"Hmm?"
"You said earlier that you surrendered yourself."
"I did."
"I surrender myself to you, I surrender all of me, I'm yours."
