Well the week came and gone and it couldn't have come at a better time. I have definitely refreshed, ESPECIALLY now that it finally feels like spring. However, today it was more like summer with a high of 79* (or at least that's what one meteorologist said!). Now I just need to focus on staying motivated for the last half of the semester.
My break was filled as much as I wanted it to be. Worked some days, relaxed others. Tuesday Angie and I went down to Chicago for the day which was timed perfectly. Got down there reeeeeeally early and visited the Shedd Aquarium. Got some yummy lunch at California Pizza Kitchen in Water Tower Place, and then went shopping there and on Michigan Ave. Need to plan another trip down there during the summer to hit another museum, the parks, navy pier and the skydeck on the sears tower. And I added to my shot glass collection :) yay! It is currently at 20, and will be added to with its 21st on my 21st. I'm such a dork. Hopefully I'll find a cheesey "21st Birthday" shot glass, even if its a cheap plastic one.
The rest of the week was fun, especially cause I finally feel rested. Got to see many of the people who were home for break, or just stopping in for the weekend. Hopefully the next two weeks will be the same! Though, I have a lot of work to do... now that I look at my schedule :/ No exams this week, but two the following. Bah.
Today was my last "full" sunday at the WRC. Really weird... only one class, and it ended at 1:00 (was supposed to last til 2:00!). I got everything done on my list by 2:00, and since it was such a nice day out I figured time would be better spent elsewhere. I'll pick up a few hours this week and next week to make up for it I guess. But how can I drag out doing close to nothing for 4 hours? Very tough. My time is worth more at home than at the WRC.
A HUGE motivation to get through the rest of the semester was the news I got Thursday morning in an email - I got accepted to the Paris program!! I plan on buying my plane tickets this weekend. I emailed the group to see if anyone would want to travel with me to Barcelona for a few days after the program to meet up with Caitlin for an afternoon. If everything works out like I hope, I would be returning the afternoon of Friday, June 8th - the day before Katie's graduation. That way I'll make sure to sleep on the plane AND when I get home to be rested to sit through the ceremony.
No word on if we're still doing our roadtrip out east, which would probably be a few days after Katie's graduation. Based on recent event's with Karen's son, we're just going to play it by ear. If anything, it might be one week instead of two. Man... after my trips I'm going to want to be home!! And work... cause I'll be broke. Ick. And perhaps finding a second job? I'd rather find a (paid?) internship instead if I can find and interview for one before going abroad. that'd be nice.
Just about 10 days until my 21st. Holy crap/YAY!
