DCook Flashback: Top 9
Ahhhhh. It was in the aftermath of Billie Jean that I began fangirling over Dave. And then came Top 9 and the Haircut Heard Around The World. Needless to say, I was a goner fo'sure after this week.
I remember being all O__O. It was like JESUS CHRIST WHERE WAS THIS GORGEOUS-LOOKING PERSON HIDING ALL THESE WEEKS??!? The power of a good haircut, my friends. Wowzers!
I hate that he had to clarify the whole Covergate BS because I thought it was pretty clear (at least for Daytripper and BJ) that he had borrowed other people's versions of it and not like he was taking credit for it. Sighhh.
His clip with Dolly is adorable; him being all "yeah?" when Dolly complimented him. Awwww. (I have a feeling she was totally charmed by him!) And seeing him pre-haircut just reinforced the freakin' awesomeness of the new hair. Daaaaamn boy.
I lovelovelove this performance. It's a bit more understated compared to all his other performances but I always love listening to this. Coming after BJ, I thought this was especially great because it showed his range/versatility. Such a different vibe and yet he nailed it too. Just so beautifully sung. And Dave with a acoustic guitar is my kryptonite.
GODDDD HE LOOKS SO GOODDDDDD. Everything worked: the new hair, the outfit. NIIIIICE. And he's wearing the Lindsey Rose bracelet across his palm. <33333

Ohhhh and the studio version of this? KILLLSSSS. The acapella section at the end just about slayed me the first time I heard it.

(HIS LITTLE FACE! ZOMG SO HOT!) Randy blahblahblahs. Still on the Cook lovetrain. Leave it to Paula to acknowlegde the elephant in the room and verbalize what all the women in the studio/watching was thinking. LOL. DAVE AND HIS LOCKTOPUS FINGERS OVER HIS FOREHEAD! \o/ HAHAHAHAHAAAA. I think that was when I fo'sure fell deep deep in love. A man with self-deprecating sense of humor is just awesome. It's odd how, in hindsight, Paula does seem to make sense in her critiques. LOL. Simon, I think, has a thing against songs with birds in the title. HAHAHAHAHA!
This was the week poor bb had to go to the hospital after the show cos of his blood pressure or something like that. *pats Dave* He did seem a bit subdued but somehow it played nicely into his performance and brought a softer touch. He hid it really well though; couldn't have guessed he wasn't feeling well.
