12 Reasons why we love Elizabeth Weir and Torri Higginson
Okay, I always wanted to make an Elizabeth/Torri picspam and finally, FINALLY I managed to do that. There was always school or other stuff distracting me, but now I did it * yay*
There are indeed a lot more than 12 reasons to love Liz/Torri but, honestly, I couldn´t possibly list EVERY reason, could I? What about spoilers? Well, I don´t know, I would say all the way through S1-S3 and S4 up to Lifeline. But I don´t think the picspam is too spoiler-ish. It´s more the little moments I´m interested in and not the story of the series.
I´m a McWeir-Shipper so be warned, it could be a little tiny bit shippy. But I tried not to make it too shippy, really.
1. OTL (Only true Leader)
One of the reasons everyone has to love Liz is that she is a powerful character other women can look up to. Everyone has the dream to be a star, to be important in any way. And when you see a woman that´s in charge of such an important expedition, you want to be like her. Well, okay maybe you don´t want to go to another galaxy. But she´s happy with her job, at least most of the time, and she´s good at what she does. As Rodney said she "had to take a lot of crap as the leader of this expedition" and still: She was freaking awesome. Go Lizzie!
2. The Eyebrow-Thing
Seriously, I really don´t know ANYONE who can do that thing with his eyebrow, like she does. No matter how hard I try, I´m not able do it. I just can´t. And she can even do it on BOTH sides. I don´t think I could resist her look in these moments, if I was the one in trouble. But fortunately it´s always Rodney, John or Caldwell.
3. The way she shows emotions
No other character can make me feel joy and sorrow like her. When she´s teary, I´m teary. When she´s happy, I´m happy. When she´s shocked, I´m shocked. I could go on like this forever and I´m sure a lot of people feel the same way. The moment this damn window exploded in front of her, I was sobbing like a baby. I know, I´m soft, but my heart broke with this scene. I also love the desperate and sad side of Elizabeth, because these moments make her vulnerable and human.
4. Every color suits her
White. Pink. Leather. Green (<3). Blue. And, of course, RED. Liz looks so freaking hot in every outfit she wears, it´s kinda surreal. But I have to admit my favorite outfit was the Sunday one. I loved this green shirt and the way she wore her hair it looked stunning. By the way I´m also planning an Elizabeth Outfits/Colors- Picspam.
5. Her smile
Absolutely no character made me squee like this just because of a single, tiny smile. I think Elizabeth needs to laugh more often, because I don´t think there is anyone, who would not like to see that. And I love the combination smile AND eyebrow even more ^^ I´m not going to say anything more, just take a look at the pictures. That´s what they say: A picture says more than 1000 words.
6. Elizabeth and men
I already said I was a McWeir Shipper, so it´s clear that this is ship needs to be mentioned ^^ Also there´s Liz/Simon because it´s been there from the beginning and she really loved him. I don´t like him for leaving her and the fact that he made her cry, but now she is free. Liz/Lorne because they look cute and Liz/Mike because they kissed and he made her wear this awesome green shirt. Well Sparky just had to be here, because it´s really obvious and he makes her smile pretty often. And Liz/Dr.Lee because it´s so damn funny to see her flirting with him and talking about World of Warcraft
7. Hair
I hate my hair. And I love hers. Sometimes it makes me jealous, that her curls look so much better than mine. I like her S3 hairstyle best, but S2 was great to. The short and straight hair in the first episodes of S1 was too ... uh straight ^^
8. All the Elizabeth cuteness
As I said there is no other character that made me squee like this over a smile, a raised eyebrow, a strange look, a hand or any other body parts xD A big YAY for Torri for bringing all this things to the show and the character.
9. Evil Lizzie or who wouldn´t love this woman with a gun?!
The long goodbye was so awesome and it made me totally fall in love with Liz-and-Guns. There should be more episodes with Liz and guns. And Evil-Liz was even better than the good, ... leader-ish (is that a word?) one. I also adore Torri´ s audio-commentary. There should be more commentary from her, too.
10. Hugs and Kisses
I´m a big shipper, so there had to be a reason with "Hugs and Kisses". Although I´m a McWeir-Shipper I do like the TLG kiss between John and Liz (because it gives me so many reasons to write McWeir fan fictions xD). Mostly because Liz is so cute in the infirmary before and so hot/evil after the scene ^^ Simon/Liz kisses and hugs were great because they showed a different side of Elizabeth in "Home". I love the behind the scenes kiss with Summner it always makes me laugh. The Return Hug was pretty unexpected (especially for Jack ^^) but somehow I like it. I just realized I forgot Janus, but I´m sure you will forgive me xD
11. TH on conventions
Okay, here I must confess: I´ve never met Torri. And this sucks because I really, really, really want to ^^ She was in Germany 2008 but I was only 14 so my parents didn´t let me travel hundreds of kilometers, just for "some" actress (HELLO?! It was TORRI!). Anyway, I´m sure I will meet her one day, I´m not giving up hope. Still, I have seen so many videos and pictures taken on a con of her, which makes me want to go to one even more.
12. She is the real hero in the show
That´s my last reason to love Liz. She saved the city (Before I sleep) and she saved the team (Lifeline). And I don´t think I need to show pictures of her being the leader, because there are too much. She saved everyone in the city with her strength, with her optimism and with her confidence on daily basis. Elizabeth is the true hero of Atlantis and she always will be.
