"Artemis~"

The small girl slipped in the room where the white cat was as well, her hands behind her back. There was a small, mysterious smile on her face and her cheeks were covered with a cute rosy blush.

She stopped just before her best friend and kneeled down. "I've got something for you."

Rei stared blankly at the two as the door slowly creaked open. She was not entirely certain what she had walked in on, as she could feel waves of guilt and nervousness radiating from the white cat, whereas the girl's aura was as calm and innocent as she had ever Seen.

It was then that she caught glimpses of an empty box and white chocolate near where their bodies lay. Suddenly she remembered Minako making occasional, off-handed remarks about Artemis going to visit "his little girlfriend" again. I thought she was just jealous that Artemis was pretty much Liz's pet cat now, she silently mused. Maybe I should have taken her more literally...

Blinking her stare into a more natural glance, Rei spoke up. "Oh, er, Liz-chan." Somehow the honorific startled Rei, both because she was still used to classmates calling her Rei-san and because Liz was not Japanese herself, but she shrugged it off and added it to her name as well. "I just wanted to drop by and see how you were doing." Glancing up at the cat sitting on the girl's chest, Rei added, "Did I come at a bad time?" with a slight, knowing smirk on her face.

[OOC: I forget if her classmates called her "Rei-san" or "Rei-sama" in the Anime, but it works out the same either way...] ^_^;;

"Well," Artemis hesitated, backing up a little further down the girl, as if it would make him less noticed. There was probably nothing he could say to improve the situation, so he simply attempted to pass the ball, so to speak. "I don't know, Liz, did she come at a bad time?" He asked the question playfully, after noticing his Liz's quaint confusion, then looked between both halves of the white box around them. "It's your room." At worst, he figured, her answer would be simplistic.

(OOC: Liz-chan sounds weird. O_o)

Liz shook her head and smiled, completely missing the knowing smirk on Rei's face. "It's alright. Right, Artemis?"

She worked herself up, arms around Artemis so he wouldn't fall to the ground. Of course, Artemis being a cat there was a small chance that he'd get hurt. But she'd rather not take any chances with her Artemis.

"Please, sit down," the girl smiled at the other Seer while she put the chocolate artwork on a safer place. "Do you want something to drink? Or anything else?"

OOC: Myeah. XD; And I think Liz started to call Rei Rei-chan most likely after she heard Minako calling Rei that. Or just thought it was normal to add -chan to someone's name. Oo Since she doesn't even know what it means. Oo

"Oh, no, that's okay." Rei said the polite words sincerely, despite her assumption that Liz would likely go and bring brownies and cookies and whatever other homemade goodies that she had on hand no matter how she chose to respond. Her eyes glanced over at Artemis for a second, thinking that if she did decide to wander off that would at least give Rei a chance to tell him that they needed to have a word in private.

Looking back at her short friend, Rei continued. "I didn't mean for you to be the hostess and entertain everybody. I just rarely see you outside of class, and thought I'd swing by to visit." Of course, the main reason she was visiting was to see how Liz was holding up after her mother's death, and Artemis seemed to be doing a more than adequate job of keeping her happy. I wonder if this was a smart idea after all, Rei asked herself. I still should say something to each of them, but both are kind of personal and they're always together...

[OOC: *laughs* Yeah, but it was a spur-of-the-moment thing while Rei was caught off guard. At least it's better than "Dr. Tam", ne?]

"But Rei-chan said that we'd have a drink together sometime with something nice." The little girl actually looked disappointed. "And I don't get to see Rei-chan very often... You really don't want any apple pie, Rei-chan?"

Liz also looked at Artemis, in the hope that the cat would say he'd like a piece and that this would help to persuade Rei to accept the offer as well.

OOC: I don't know, "Dr. Tam" sounds alright. =P Liz prefers "Dr. Simon", though. ...And it's still better than "Mr. Haruka". Oo;

Artemis had taken a seat on the bed near to where Rei was standing, watching Liz putter around in her cute little way. Then looking between the two girls when the question was asked, the two things he did not want to do were upset Liz or somehow wind up arguing with Rei.

"Oh, well," he started, clearing his throat and smiling the best a cat could smile. "We haven't had anything since before classes ended, either, so it's no problem for Hino-san to eat with us now, hmm?"

(OOC: Minako says "Simon" because it sounds hot, plus "Tam" probably reminds her of River and the fact they're somehow related.)

The unexpected guest glanced between Liz and Artemis as each spoke in turn, before smiling at Liz and accepting her gracious offer. "That actually sounds really good, Liz. Sure, I'll stick around as long as I'm not bothering anyone."

Continuing the same thought only moments after the small girl scurried off to bring a dessert for three, Rei took a seat casually on the bed next to Artemis and whispered "Gomen, Artemis." She looked slightly embarrassed for his sake. "I wasn't expecting to walk in on you giving Liz a White Day present..."

[OOC: Somehow I can't see Rei saying anything more formal or polite than "Simon" from here on out, either. Poor fella, getting drug into her and Mamoru's argument at the worst possible time!]

"That's, not really..." Artemis whispered back, not really sure how to explain quickly enough. "She was giving me a present, actually. Guess she has some learning to do, there. I was just teach, um, thanking her. Anyway..."

A white paw scratched the back of the cat's ear, "Did Minako send you down here or something? I kept meaning to catch you, but I've been a little, ah, busy." That's a brilliant way to put everything.

"Uh-huh," Rei said in response, finding all of this slightly amusing.

"No, Mina-chan didn't send me down here. In fact, I actually haven't seen her at all today..." A smirk began to appear, as if there were more to that statement that she was not telling. Her mind began to wander as she was trying to imagine how her Mina-chan would thank her for her own White Day surprise. But Rei forced those idle thoughts from her mind, remembering how quickly her Seer friend noticed them before.

Without saying too much, Rei hinted towards Artemis that she knew what he was trying to say. "No, she didn't send me, but I have been meaning to catch up with you too, for right at a month now." She glanced over at the cat while extending the first two fingers of her left hand. "Minako told me, well, everything about her, but the only thing I know about Mars is that I'm an Aries..."

Artemis smirked, and while not a Seer or Prophet, was observant enough to at least note Rei's brief distraction. Everything, hmm?

"I don't know much more than that, to be honest. They're memories locked in the back of your soul, not mine, after all." Watching Liz, his mind began to tick, wondering if it would really be so horrible to let her know what was going on. Turn to Rei, he added, "You, aren't the only one we've found with a mark like that, though. Things, didn't turn out so well..."

There was a short pause before he went on. "It's not as if Liz is just any random person, though. She's not even a, well, 'mundane' person. Do you mind talking about it here?" Leaving Rei to think, Artemis' eyes followed his Liz at work again, a little more directly. "Liz can keep a secret, if she knows it's a secret, right?" It was mostly to Liz herself as she came back by, though he also glanced back to Rei, because it was still about her.

Rei looked slightly flustered as the question was posed to her. Her thoughts immediately went to the girl's detailed illustration of the other deep secret that she and Minako shared, one that was not spoken aloud but Liz managed to discover despite their caution.

Nervously, she glanced at Artemis, trying to get one last whisper in before the small girl came close enough to overhear. "It's not just my secret. By talking about my former life, wouldn't that expose someone else's current identity?" That someone, of course, was her Mina-chan, though Rei was hesitant to say her name aloud just to be safe.

Minako had many secrets to protect. Secrets about a past life, about the planet Venus, about being a Princess, about being Sailor V. To Rei, idle speculation about who she may have been in a life long forgotten had no bearing on this life. She was merely curious to find out more about the red planet in general, and that whim was nothing nearly important enough to blow a super-heroine's cover. As hesitant as the Soldier of Love and Beauty was to share it with her partner, her lover, her closest friend...Rei was even more reluctant to allow anyone else to uncover that hidden truth.

Liz glanced surprised up from her careful balancing of the tray. "I... I guess I can keep a secret..." Unless father really wants to know something... But I don't think he'll be interested in any of this kind of things. "But you don't have to tell anything, of course."

She smiled at the two, showing not even the slightest bit of curiosity. She had learned little girls shouldn't be curious. Bad things would come from that.

"So... here. And... that one is for you," the girl said while she handed over the apple pie and drink to her two friends. "Did you want to talk to Artemis, Rei-chan? I can also wait somewhere else, if you prefer that."

Not knowing what to say or what to do, Rei glanced back at the white feline sitting beside her before accepting her slice of pie. Liz was an honest girl, and Artemis had a point when he said that she likely could keep a secret if she knows it's something not to be shared. Besides, as close as she and Artemis were becoming, it would not surprise her if they already shared secrets between the two.

The only thing Rei knew for a fact was that she had lived a previous life. That in and of itself was not too damaging of a secret to be revealed, as long as it did not somehow interfere with Minako's duties as Sailor V. But that was a mission that Artemis was a part of as well, so she trusted the guardian cat to know how much if anything to share. Of the three, he was the one holding the most information, and the one best able to decide.

[OOC: Typos suck. And seem to happen a lot at 3am.] ^_^;;

Artemis shook his head, "Actually, all I really have to add, are instructions. They're almost the same things I explained to Liz a while ago."

With those words said, he hopped off the bed, getting a decent amount of distance from it before doing a quick flip in the air. Much the way he had produced the compact in Rei's room before, Artemis dropped a small, ornate pen next to Rei, bearing the astrological symbol for Mars. Once the glittering light and sparkling silver byproducts of his summoning abilities faded away, he sat down next to the dark haired girl rather casually.

"It's, well, sort of a concentration tool. Magical items and artifacts like this can be used by even Seers to cast the spells the objects are enchanted with. It's really not much different from your using potions, or Slayers having enchanted weapons, except it's a pen, to be a little less obvious. In Minako's case, she was a Mage, so she eventually learned how to copy some of the spells her items held on her own, though she can still use them to amplify that power. In yours, I'm not sure that's possible, but when you activate that pen, it should call on whatever powers from your past life that you had the most affinity for. This one should also only work for you, if you were who we think you were."

Looking between the two girls, Artemis tried to make sure he hadn't lost either of them yet, though he knew Liz herself would always have more questions to think up later. "I'm sure you can guess what happens along with that, if Minako really told you everything, so you probably don't want to go using it here. The code phrase is 'Mars Power Makeup.'"

'Things you've already explained to Liz?', the raven-haired girl asked herself, wondering if Liz had some kind of connection to all of this nonsense about past lives on other planets as well. Not wanting to appear the most ignorant person there, Rei kept quiet with the hopes that things would explain themselves in due time.

She simply nodded at the brief description of the red pen that suddenly appeared. Apparently it was some sort of magic wand, imbued with powers and spells, some sort of magic that only she could use. "Well, she didn't tell me everything," Rei corrected. "She only talked about herself, really. What do you mean, 'if I am who you think I am'? Just who am I supposed to..."

Rei suddenly stopped mid-sentence as she reached out and touched the magical object bearing her symbol. It felt hot, though it did not burn her skin. Instead, the heat began to flow through her, filling her up as if it were part of her. As she held the pen in her hand, the first of many doors were opened in her mind, making their secrets known unto her and causing a glowing red sigil to make itself visible across her forehead.

"I am Sailor Mars," she said in a quiet voice, speaking those words to herself more than the accidental audience that would also hear them.

[OOC: The thought of a "Sailor Liz" amuses me for some reason.] ^_^

Liz stared at what happened between the girl and the cat, only half understanding what was going on. Questions raced through her mind. The only thing Artemis had ever shown her was some kind of pen that could change her into the girl of the painting... But she had been still just Liz, not...

"S-Sailor Mars?" the little girl asked confused. "What's... what's that supposed to mean?"

OOC: It sounds very... weird for some reason. Oo
