The blessings of eternal youth?

OOC: Inspired by an RP where I play an eight-year-old Liz. Feel free to decide if your own characters suffer from the same weird situation or not.Liz woke up early that morning, finding herself in a bed that seemed larger than usual. The girl, however, was still half asleep and shrugged the odd experience off. She climbed out of bed and up to the ( Read more... )

Kate lay sprawled out in her bed, her body stretched out in a lazy but comfortable position. She was lost in peaceful dreams, but when that small bundle of warmth cuddled up beside her she rolled over naturally, draping an arm over the girl she adored and curling up next to her. "I love you," she mumbled, still asleep.

But that sleepy voice sounded sweeter and softer than usual, the voice of a young girl rather than a young woman. Her hair was silky and smooth, and fell to her waist instead of just past her shoulders. Her tanned skin was now a creamy white, unblemished by the sun, and her normally toned and athletic body surprisingly soft. The tank top that once fit around a curvaceous frame now was loose and baggy, dwarfing the child bundled up inside.

"Hmm..." came a similiar young voice while Liz snuggled against her dear, dear friend. It was then that she noticed something was wrong. Whenever she snuggled against Kate before, she was always greeted by two soft, warm breasts; two things that were now suspiciously absent.

"K-Katelyn...?" Liz murmured in a soft voice that reflected her timidity even more than when she'd come to St. Catherine's. "What... What happened to your breasts...?"

Kate's hand found that of her partner as they lie there sleeping. Caressing it slightly, she held it in her own as she snuggled closer to the girl she worshiped and adored.

"Mmm?" A sleepy moan was the only response at first, followed by a soft giggle. Katelyn guided Liz's hand to her chest, unsure of what Liz had meant or if she had even heard her correctly. But as their hands reached her breasts, something didn't feel quite right. Something was...different, somehow.

"Hn?" As her tired mind tried to make sense of this curious sensation, the Slayer gradually became more and more awake. Her eyes slowly opened and glanced downward, seeing an empty space where her curves normally would be. Startled, the girl quickly sat up, her overly-large tank top sliding off one shoulder as she did so. "L-liz?" The normally confident girl seemed worried by this which she did not understand. "What, what's going on?"

"I... don't know?" Her eyes finally opened and blinked at the sight she looked at. "You look younger. Like... way younger. L-like... like... you're a child?"

Kate sat there, rubbing her eyes with the backs of her hands. These were then placed back on the mattress, propping the girl up as she stared bewildered at the girl lying in her bed. After a moment of confusion a hand reached out to gently touch the side of Liz's face, Kate's fingertips lightly grazing her cheek almost as if to prove that she was real. "Liz...," Kate said with similar hesitation. "You....you're a girl? I mean, like, a little girl?"

Blue eyes then wandered around a room that somehow looked twice as big as what she remembered. "I don't know what's going on," Katelyn then added, cautious and concerned but not doing anything that might cause her Liz to worry more. "I don't know...what happened...but even like this, I promise I'll protect you." Those words seemed unusual coming from such an sweet and innocent-looking child, but they were as heartfelt as ever. "I'll find a way, to make us better again."

"I'm... what?" Hands went up to her own face, then she gazed up at Katelyn. "You look... young as well..."

A thumb went into her mouth as brown eyes kept on looking up at Kate. There was little worry in her eyes, just a huge trust in that her friend would make everything alright. "Maybe one of the professors knows what's going on."

"Yeah!" Kate seemed to perk up as for all her bravery, she knew Liz was a bright and gifted girl who always seemed full of good ideas. Liz may put all her trust in Kate, but Kate placed her faith Liz as well. "That's...yeah! We should do that! Come on, come on!"

The young girl, eager and excitable, hopped out from the top bunk as she had done hundreds of times. Usually she would just turn into a cat and easily land on all fours, though the naturally agile Slayer easily could land from such a short fall without trouble. But the fall now seemed much steeper than usual, and Katie's childish body felt awkward and harder to control than what she was used to. A loud thunk could be heard as she landed face-down on the floor. "Owie...."

Liz crawled out from the warm blankets to peek down at fallen girl, one thumb up in her mouth. She blinked at the sight.

"Katelyn? Are you alright? That... that sounded rather painful..."

Kate rose to her knees, still seated on the floor and looking as if she might cry. She was not seriously hurt, not in the slightest, but her threshold for pain was nothing like it once was. She sniffled, quietly saying "I fell down..." as if she wanted her mother to kiss the bruises to make them all better.

Liz wriggled her way to the ladder and careful probed with her foot to find the first step. It took her quite a few moments before she reached the bottom of the ladder, but once her feet hit the carpet on the floor, she immediately wobbled over to the hurt Kate and put her arms around the girl.

"It's alright," she said softly, hugging her girlfriend tightly. "I'll... I'll... uhm... M-maybe... Maybe I can... kiss the pain away?"

Katelyn seemed soothed and comforted by the attention, distracted from the scrape on her knee. Liz always seemed to have that effect on her, but now a child, she needed that reassurance that she would be okay.

She pushed the long, silken strands of hair from her face, finding them a little awkward since she had not worn her hair this long since she was a small girl. But though her body was young, she still thought as she always did. Instead of kissing the painful spot to make it 'all better', she instead pressed her youthful lips to Liz's for a sweet peck.

As she looked into Liz's eyes, it drew her mind away from the bruise that seemed the most important thing in the world for a few seconds and helped bring everything else into focus. "We...need to find the teachers," she reminded herself. Rising to her feet she offered a hand to help Liz up. "C'mon, let's go see!"

"Hn... let's go..." Liz repeated in a softer, hesitant voice. She accepted Kate's hand and let the girl help her up. Liz didn't let go of the hand after she stood again, though, but held on to it tightly. "Let's... let's see if we can find a teacher..."

Holding hands like a pair of grade-school children, Kate and Liz left their dorm to wander down the hallway and to the staircase that led to the the rooms for the faculty and staff. This much seemed to be a good idea, at least...trying to find a teacher, and starting their search there in the dorms instead of wandering from classroom to classroom. "But...who should we ask," Kate asked to herself as much as to her young friend.

She began to muse aloud, starting with her own teachers. "Hroo-kah...but, she might not be there." The Slayer continued to think. "And her, and Laurian both...they might think bad about me. I'm s'possed to be tough...and now I'm all small and weak and stuff." She then frowned a little, pouty as if she had let everyone down in some strange way. "Maybe even Dayenne, too."

((OOC: Guess it's up to you who they go and see, since you play pretty much all of the professors. 'Cept for Artemis and Soi, but I don't know if they're reading this far back.))

Liz clung to Katelyn, not really sure of what she should say. "I... I don't think that... that they'll... well... think bad about you... A-after all... why... why should they? It's...well... it's not... not really your fault..."

She gave Kate a small, shy smile. "M-maybe... maybe... we should ask p-professor Soulfire...?"

Katelyn smiled, that simple reassurance seeming to be enough to settle her for now. "Uh-huh," she agreed. "I didn't do nothing. They, they can't think I messed up. Not when I couldn't do nothing to protect you." It still seemed somewhat strange, so young and innocent a girl worried about being tough. No longer as strong as she once was, she seemed to be only the pretty little girl that had not been seen in years rather than a Druid, a Slayer, or even a high-school student.

"Yeah, Soulfire would know. She always knows what to do. She's so smart." Filled with a new hope, Katelyn began to skip up the stairs towards the gentle professor's room with her cute young friend in tow.

((OOC: That would be one of Kate's first choices as well, but I remembered that you were sort of unofficially retiring those two so I went another route with it first...)) ^_^;

Liz followed her girlfriend up to the teacher's rooms, hoping that there would be anyone around who could help them.

Soulfire was in her room. It was still early in the morning, after all. That meant no lessons yet or time she could spent in the library. Dayenne was still asleep, but the witch knew it wouldn't take long before she woke up as well. Also knowing how hungry the Slayer could be in the morning, Soulfire had already started on breakfast when the two young girls knocked on her door.

"Oh... hello," she said surprised when she gazed down on the two girls. "Katelyn and Liz, right?"
