Misc fannish and RL stuff
None of these are worthy of their own entry but some fannish stuff has accumulated, so here have a list:
- GALAVANT! If you haven't seen the show yet but like fun fantasy, twisty plotlines, loveable characters, a show that doesn't take itself too serious but most importantly Alan Menken's music then you need to watch this! Here have the trailer for S2 which should give you a good insight (and one of several earworms):
- hikarievandar is writing a paper and needs help from fannish people. If you have some time and like to talk about fandom think about giving a hand, please.
- I'm not one for LARPing but this looks really, really, really awesome! Playing Harry Potter in a real castle done by people who seem to know what they're doing and care about it. Who's coming with me?
- I'm quite ambivalent about the new ghostbusters trailer. YAY, all female, diverse cast. YAY, ghostbusters reboot! BUt the special effects! Urgh! THe very first ghost looked like one from an older video game. All pixely and stuff. I really, really hope that was a sign of unfinished effects because that sucked! Also the cuts and the "slime" thrown on the character. Yeah, so realistic. Sorry, but that doesn't make me very enthuthiastic about it and puts some of the comments in perspective.
- A good and dear friend of mine will have her very first poem anthology "Liegt das Land noch Blind wie Zucker" out at the Leipzig Book Fair (in german). Please have a look at it if you are so inclined. One of the poems is even about me! Well, I provided the inspiration or rather my dad did with calling about a bomb find close to where I live. Luckily I could tell him that I was in Berlin at the time :) This is a very regular occurence here in Germany and no one is particularly bothered. Still, it serves as a reminder of our past 70 years on and Kristina finds wonderful words for that weird feeling. /plug
