I don't know anything about Cats, but a lot about betaing. At least in German. :) So, I should be free (well, as free as it is possible in the oh so quiet Christmas season....) after the 16th - if this works for you, then bring it on!
Well, it's a bit weird because CATS is about anthromorphous cats that have a look and personalities mostly based on behaviours observed in cats. Of course the original poem's author uses that to reflect back human behaviour to the reader. Since the poems were written in the late 19th century, it also gives a lovely view on society in victorian era London/England :) So all the cats from the musical/poem have very clear and people-like characteristics, which makes it a bit weird when getting into the head of a being which is still a cat, you know.
Anyway, more on the three characters appearing (I'll give you some basic background info, there's not much more you need to know, me thinks) when I send you the file. Via EMail or IM? I don't seem to have your email address :(
I'll get it, once I set my mind to it, I'm sure. (As long as it's not Felidae by dear despicable Akif Pirinci...)
email is fine, don't use IM that much - kidietr at aol com - a true vintage adress... :)
I finish the last thing I really have to prepare for and THINK Thursday morning - after that there should be some brain cells freed up again. And I love betaing!
Thanks for the email address. No, worries, that'll give me some time to read it over again. Having made good progress on second fic tonight I'm more confident to actually maybe (knock on wood) finish all three fics on time?!
Edit: And you know what? It actually hurt a lot to read these things about Mr Pirinci. Because I actually liked the first Felidae novel (even though it held quite some horrors) and because he used to (or still does?) live in Bonn. And now that I think about it, didn't the first novel (I don't remember the later ones quite that well, mostly because they weren't all from dear Francis's perspective) have exactly a quite controversial topic that Francis came down on the legal/proper/humanistic side on, iIrc?
