Weeeeellll, it's not entirely fair to blame the construction of Alex on Willow.

But as for the reasons why Xander had to go undercover, that'll be explained sooner rather than later.

I'm completely fascinated by this story - and I'm starting to wonder if the "Alex Hill" construct wasn't largely determined by Xander's own self-perception... or at least, his most basic fears.

I was determined not to read until it was completed, but I got sucked in anyway!

Maybe if he concentrates on those, Spike’s voice will turn into that WAH-WAH-WAH noise all the adults make in the Charlie Brown cartoons. I guess he still watches Peanuts, huh?
