Sam's devotion is heartbreaking. I always hated what happened in that relationship. You've done such a good job of highlighting the differences between the Sharons. I have such a soft spot for the Sharon currently on Galactica it's not even funny. The card game is eerie with that last scene reverberating. I wonder if Sam's coach was another model of Tigh? Brr.

One of the things I've always liked about your work is the way you tie canon, even canon that hasn't happened yet, into your stories. You do it so subtly, and this ending was a perfect example. These four people, brought together by a "band" preparing to fight the very things that they are. Brilliant.

I really like this, especially the way it ties into the revelations in Crossroads, and how Sam kind of unconsciously knows but can't connect the pieces.

Oh! The meeting at the card table makes this fic phenomenal. A murder of crows indeed.

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it. This was my remix story from last year, and even though I think I pulled my hair out while writing it, it's my favorite remix story so far.

Thank you for reading. :-)

Here from crack_van, (well, actually just reminded to give feedback by crack_van,) and I wanted to say how impressed I was with this. You've captured Sam's voice so well, and the backstory you give him is just perfect. (And the way the end echoes the beginning is chilling in the best possible way.) I love all the little details you've worked in, like Sam thanking Artemis for a successful hunt, and how he and Tyrol are just noticeably faster and stronger than everyone else. And this line in particular:

The very thought brings him to the edge of tears. He tells himself that it’s because his hopes have been dashed, rather than a hint that on some level he actually feels bad that the Skinjob is reaching for something that it’ll never achieve.just made my foreshadowing-loving heart happy. Love the interaction with Ellen - and how tragic and believable that she'd be moved to try to help him get his wife out of prison! - and BOOMER. (Heh, I loved your characterization of her, because I've definitely had thoughts similar to Sam's there, though I do of course ( ... )

Thank you for the great feedback! :-)

Sorry about the tardiness of my reply, but I've been iffy about being online for a few days (rivers to kayak and all that...).

First, thank you for taking a chance on this story. I know Sam isn't always a fave with people and Sam/Kara tends to, as a ship, get short-shrift in favor of Lee/Kara, so I always appreciate it when people do read this story. (I'm agnostic on shipping, although I have great love for the Fighting Agathons as a couple...I tend to like individual characters and I do have a fondness for Sam.)

This story I admit was a toughie to write, mostly because it was part of the Remix Fic-A-Thon, so I had an original story I had to pull off of ( Tesselation, which is an excellent story itself as told from Kara's perspective of her captivity ( ... )
