The saga for the stomach virus...

the short story - it sucks... and blows :P

It's been floating around school and multiple day cares for a couple weeks, and it looks like I got it.  I felt icky yesterday morning, but I thought it was just a need for food, since I'd been cutting back on my portion sizes in an effort to lose that stubborn last 12 pounds of baby weight.  But it kept getting worse throughout the day, rather them improving with food or drink.  So around  lunch time I started feeling really crappy and asked my assistant principal to stop by a couple times during 6th and 7th periods.  At the beginning of 7th period, I had gotten really nauseous, abdoinal cramping, light sensitive, dizzy, woozy...  so I sent one of my students to get Mom from across the building.  She called the nurse, and they came to wheel me down to the nurse's office.

All the symptoms of the flu but for two things - no fever (in fact, my temp was a bit low) and I'd had the flu shot already.  I was also getting really dehydrated eventhough I'd been drinking water all day (as usual).  So I hung out in a nice dark room huddled under a blanket until Mom was done with her last class and she took me home.

And half a mile down the road, I finally threw up.  Made me feel ever so much better!  Chicken noodle soup and lots of propel for dinner, good long sleep, and I'm feeling nearly alive today.  I just hope this little bit of feeling icky doesn't escalate again.

I wish I'd had enough presence of mind to get someone to bring my papers to grade so I could get that done this weekend instead of having to wait until next week to pick them up...  wah.
