Lisa Cuddy has reservations about this. Fears, really. Many, many fears. A few to consider…
Impropriety - Though technically House’s employee, she’s still Cuddy’s subordinate, and so young it makes Lisa’s dyed gray hairs ache.
Inexperience - Lisa hasn’t been with a woman since ending her tour as a resident. In 1994. This time around is so much better, it makes her question whether ’94 should even count.
Discovery - If (when) he finds out, House will persecute her like Torquemada. Forever.
Affection - Which stole up on cat paws, sneaking in through conversations, laughter and wine… sex that left her gasping, prostrate in the pillows of her immaculate bed.
Conclusion - Of Hadley’s career - or hers - if things go terribly wrong. If they go very right for very long, they may have to deal with a different sort of terminality.
Uncertainty - Remy won’t take the blood test, would rather live solely for the present and use the possibility of Huntington’s as a bulwark against fear.
Good administrators with secret gray hairs do not romanticize such fatalism. Good administrators live for the future; they need to know what lies ahead.
She organizes a staff blood drive. Takes the donor bag marked “13” (in House’s angular scrawl), trucks it down to the lab and orders the test herself.
Lisa Cuddy has reservations about this - it’s an invasion of privacy and completely unethical - but her fears are legion. Killing off this one might give her the courage to confront the rest.
