Hi. Pardon my randomness in contacting you, but I saw you on the SIG community page, and I was hoping you could answer some questions for me...

I never attended SIG, alas (was involved in future problem solving, though, have you heard of it? and have been so impacted by my gifted ed teacher/experiences), but I've been thinking lately about applying to be a counselor. I know this is extremely vague, but from someone who has done it before, can you tell me what it's like? Responsibilities? Challenges? Fun stuff? I gather from reading bits of the community's posts that there's dissatisfaction right now with the way the administration is taking things (which is a shame), but since I never attended as a camper, I would be taking it in solely as it is now...

I guess the main thing I'm trying to figure out is whether I'd want to apply for a three-week session or for six weeks -- if I did three, I would preference Princeton or Amherst; if six, I'd pref BMC, then Vassar. Any thoughts about the campuses themselves/differences? I'm trying to figure out my summer plans, and I'm hesitant about jumping in to six weeks without any background, but at the same time, it sounds like something I'd *love*...

Thanks for giving me your thoughts on this -- I'd love to have some insight from a staff member vs. administration, who I've emailed before.

- Megan :)
