I sit here today, happy with who I am and where I am in my life. I am married to Edmond Dantes, the Count of Monte Cristo and the best man whom I have known. I carry within me our child who is more and more making her presence known.
I am not completely confident about my abilities to parent our child as I have never been in such a situation before, but I am ready to do my best and try to give our child a good life. One thing is sure, she will always be loved. I can see that in the way that Edmond stares at me, in as much awe as I am over this being we have created who will soon be with us and we will hold and care for.
The thought of having taken a different path has not come to me. For I can see no other road that would leave me so fulfilled and content.
