She had been riding for hours, not a hard ride but a pace that was swift without wearing her companion out. They were explorers and had spent the last few days wandering through new lands in the south. It wasn’t until she saw the building that looked as a castle [but was indeed a large estate] did she know that they were far off the beaten path.
She slowed Tsali to a walk when she saw a man out in the yard. He turned toward her and she knew him to be the most handsome man whom she had ever seen. They spoke for a short time before she departed on her way but she did not forget his face nor his gentle mannerisms.
It would be quite some time before she realized exactly what an impact the chance encounter would have on her life or that it would drastically change her life in ways she’d never have imagined. Nor would she change one minute of the adventure.
