New desktop layout
My right wrist has gone carpal.
Well, that’s not quite accurate. It had gone carpal about a month ago now. It’s only now that I’ve been driven to do something about it.
I thought I could do with one of these, but lack either the funds to procure one or the time to wait for it to arrive.
The middle of the keyboard is propped up by my glasses case. The wrist-rest is propped up by one of sparksparkspark‘s old floppy drives and a Fluke model 73 multimeter.
As you can see the space bar is no longer usable (or even visible.) Solution? Map the AltGr key to space instead. (I used to keep hitting that instead of the space bar anyway. Though right now I do still have the occasional tendency to reach for the space bar with my left thumb…) Isn’t X just wonderful? :D
As soon as the thesis is over I think I’ll have a look at building some sort of permanent stand for this setup.
Shame about the warranty.
