something to think about...
one of my problems with working in production is that i've always felt that it doesn't contribute anything to anyone, much less society... it's always seemed like a selfish, self-indulgent act to insist on working in this industry.
yesterday tho', at Gem's birthday, met a Viet-Aussie guy from Adelaide who said that when he was young, watching some film (Clockwork Orange he thinks) at the local indie cinema totally blew his mind and from then on, it was his weekly sessions there that kept him going and opened his world. soul food, he said.
not that this now make what i do seem that much better, but wow, it's pretty amazing to hear from someone like that. perhaps it's a sign to keep on trudging along.
