(no subject)
-Giggles like a lunatic- I'm sorry this is so late - I'd decided not to do it, but I just heard the word "Torchwood" and couldn't resist. This is my minimega picspam of doom for the two released promos for Episodes 12 and 13. It's horrifically image heavy, as I've capped every second of them.
Warning: this contains heavy spoilers for the Torchwood finale, with info/pics from the two promos, other released spoilers and my own spec. Do not click if you are even slightly spoiler-phobic. You have been warned. Other than that, I hope you enjoy! And please feel free to add your own spec and spoilers in the comments.
(Note - dialogue/audio from the promos is written in normal text. My own speculation/comments is in italics.)
Promo number 1
Tosh: Where's the SUV?
Tosh: "Has it been stolen?"
Jack: "No, we have."
Ooooh, I love the plot already. So they're back in 1941? I reeeeally want Algy to make an appearance. I guess not though, if this is in Cardiff and he was in London.
Owen VO: "They're stuck in the middle of the Cardiff blitz"
Jack: "Toshiko!"
Owen: "It's our duty to get them out"
Ianto VO: "Open the Rift now and the whole world could suffer." Wahey, they gave him a gun again. I want him to shoot, or at least punch, Owen.
So, I guess Owen ignores him. One of these day's Ianto's going to flip, and then he'll be sorry.
Ianto: "Or who knows what will come out?"
Random woman: "I love you." Well, she's saying this to Jack. I have no idea who the woman is. It can't be Estelle, because her bone structure is all wrong, and that would be a bit dumb. Ideas?
Ianto VO: "It's a trap!"
I'm guessing this is about the time things/people start appearing? Gwen spins round so she must have seen something.
Ianto: "To incite total chaos and destruction." Vexed Ianto = GUH. As usual, he seems to be the only one thinking sensibly. And, again as usual, he's wearing the nicest clothes. This is always important when approaching the end of the world ;)
OOOOH, Jack gets punched in the face, seemingly by a randomer. My guess is it's either Algy or alternate!Jack.
Nice random old man. Again, no idea who he is.
Owen VO: "We don't even know who he is!" The team must come into contact with alternate!Jack, then. Perhaps when they open the Rift to get Jack and Tosh back, alternate!Jack comes too?
Ianto VO: "He's our leader." Awww, love for loyal!Ianto.
Owen: "Not anymore" Oooh. Hate for disloyal!Owen. But are they referring to Jack or alternate!Jack?
Alternate!Jack: "I'm Captain Jack Harkness, 133rd Squadron."Nope, he can't deliver this line anywhere near as well as John Barrowman. The thing is - the dance is set on the 20th January 1941; Captian Jack DISAPPEARS on this day. So either they're caught up in a parallel world, or Owen has majorly screwed up the time line by opening the Rift.
As you might expect, Tosh looks more than a little shocked.
Jack doesn't look too happy either xD
Oh noes! Camera of DOOM!
Promo number two
This Does Not Look Good.
Jack: "What have you done?" "You made me leave my coat in 1941!" He looks a bit worried, but I think that may be more to do with the fact that the Rift's open than because he doesn't seem to have his coat. He seems to be looking up at Owen here, because Ianto is wearing different coloured trousers. It could be Gwen, though.
Jack VO (continued through next few shots): "You opened the Rift without knowing what you were doing."
Oooh, workstation go bang. Not sure whose it is, but it's not Gwen's. Something tells me Ianto will have a lot of cleaning up to do after this. Poor woobie <3
No, I don't have any idea whose arm this is :P It might be Jack's?
This looks a little like an explosion or something, which throws Gwen backwards. It can't be the Rift opening, because Tosh is already there.
This is deliberately shot blurred, so there's nothing I can do about the quality :P It might be a Weevil, but it could equally be any other creature.
Eeee! It's a Roman solider or something!
And then, like magic, he's GONE! This is a millisecond afer he's there, so he must disappear. It's only noticable if you freeze it at exactly the right moment.
Jack VO (continued through next few shots): "You've caused the temporal cracks to widen."
Oooh, it's the guy again. I think the shot of him in the first promo is him in his own time, and this shot is him out of his time, in the Hub.
Ianto looking at one of the cells...
Then he sees something and turns round...
AND OHMIGOSH IT'S LISA!!!!!!
Squee! I hope Ianto gets some closure now. Or Jack gets jealous and sexes kisses him better.
Jack VO (continued through next few shots): "Time is seeping through." Bog standard image of people running and screaming :P They should be used to it by now, if they live in Cardiff.
Is it bad that the first thought that popped into my head is that Ianto's stopwatch will be messed up? :P
Owen: "If it wasn't for me, you two would still be in the 1940's." Owen is sounding more than a little desperate here. He knows he's screwed up.
Maybe this is when Jack's looking for Tosh? He looks rather concerned.
Is it too much to hope that one of these is Algy? -Has excessive Algy love-
More people screaming - quel surprise!
Jack: "Toshiko!" Isn't that Tosh behind him? :P
Gwen: "Jack!
Ohhhh, LOVE for this! And woe, JJB Sport is about to get crushed. Won't waste too many tears over that ;)
Owen: "People are dropping thorugh time, and they're going to bring every didsease in history through your doors!" Well, Owen's presumably dressed like this so he won't get infected by any diseases. But I wonder who he's speaking to? It can't be any of the other Torchwood staff, because he says "though your doors".
Is it always necessary for lots of people to die in finales?
It's like something out of Shaun of the Dead!
Gwen is mumbling something hysterically here, can't make it out though.
I have a horrible feeling this is Rhys. It's bad enough that he dies, but if he dies from the plague or something, I might have to kill Uncle Rusty.
