Oh. Em. SQUEE. I swear, this has been the best weekend ever.
I went to Coventry today, cause someone on the
Outpost Gallifrey forums had info that there would be Doctor Who filming there. So I met the people from the forums by this Olde Worlde hospital - where, sure enough, they were setting up for filming. I got there about 5.10, and we chatted for a bit and took some pictures, then the security guards put barriers up and we had to get behind them. Luckily, I was right at the front ^^ They moved the barriers even further back when the SFX lorry got there, but I was still at the front :P
David and Freema arrived just before 6, and they rehearsed a shot of running in and out of the doorway a few hundred times, along with Dean Lennox Kelly. And great news - HE WAS WEARING THE BROWN SUIT <333333333 with a blueish shirt and a dark tie. Freema was wearing the purple leather jacket from the promo shots, and also had her hair in the same style. This was about 10 metres from where we were standing -squees a bit more for the hell of it- Oh, and Freema waved at us xD It started raining (and I mean heavy rain, not just a shower xD) about 7...I had no jacket with me, but I did have an umbrella. Everyone was running around on set with waterproofs, and David, Freema and Dean (hereafter known as DFD :P) had assistants to hold their umbrellas ¬.¬ They did some more running shots and then filmed inside the house, in the courtyard.
About 8pm, DFD got into a silver car and were driven off, and the rest of the extras and most of the crew left not long after. The security guard told us they'd gone to lunch and would be back in about an hour. Someone mentioned that there might be some filming on at the Register Office, but when I walked round there was nothing there. I got back to the location about 8.50 (mmm...Subway for dinner) and the crew were just setting up again. They spent _ages_ putting hay/straw down and spraying it with water - presumably because it had rained in earlier shots. Then they did a ton of rehearsals and about 4 takes of this extra playing a lute and singing a song, which I managed to record a bit of on my phone ^^ Then someone off camera shouted something to him, and he replied with 'Yes! It is tonight!' and ran off camera. This was still being shot at 10pm when I left. They were filming til about 3am, but I had to leave to get the train =( (Technically, the coach, cause they cancelled all the damn trains today x.x) DFD still hadn't got back, but considering I wasn't expecting to see any filming at all - let alone David Tennant running around for a couple of hours- I wasn't too disappointed :P
Look at that - two long updates in a row and not a meme in sight! I'll update this post with pictures when I get them developed. There are some on
this website though.
