1) what is your favorite form of creating art? (ie: painting, ceramics, collage, digital...?)
it’s probably a toss-up between digital & collage paintings. Being a graphic designer is awesome because I get to use my art skills & work my creativity all day & it pays the bills but it can also suck because after doing design all day I don’t always want to come home & work on side projects. But I’m taking a mixed media art class right now & have fell back in love with collaging & learning new techniques.
2) what item of clothing/accessory do you treasure most? how did you acquire it?
That’s a toughy. I don’t think I can choose just one but the things I love the most are my recent collection of vests. I think I have 5 or so & wear them every opportunity I get. Also, I totally ♥ my flat black scrunch boots. They look super sweet with tights & skirts or dresses. And I feel really stylish & confident when I wear a vest, skirt, tights & the boots.
3) if you had to choose a food item to represent you, what would you chose and why?
Strawberry rubarb pie. It’s sweet but also tangy. Not everyone loves rubarb but combined with strawberries it is delish. It is sweet & sassy, like me.
4) what band(s) and/or song(s) do you secretly rock out to when alone in your car?
My guilty pleasures include Britney, gwen & fergie. I’ll admit it, I’m a sucker for a good chick power ballad. (actually it’s not much of a secret because I blast the songs so I’m sure everyone around me knows what I’m rockin.
5) what inspires your creativity?
I’m inspired by almost everything. Lately I’ve taken a lot of queues from fashion. I look at what people wear when I’m out places & what’s in the magazines & get inspired by color combinations & style mixes. A lot of my design work recently has been kind of linked to “biker” fashion with lots of paint splatters & skulls. Man I do love me some skull & crossbones.
