irie mon

well, im in the computer lab at my hotel in montego bay, jamaica right now, listening to some rasta guys talk. apparently they speak english here, but they have this dialect when they speak to each other that is impossible to understand, saver for a few nouns here and there. they really do say "mon" a lot too, which is cool. when i say a lot, i mean every time you talk to them, 5 or 6 times. anyone jamaican is automatically about 5 times cooler than anyone who is not jamaican. im not sure why, its just something you have to experience. anyway, its been raining a lot, but only for a little while at a time. according to local sources it only rains frequently for 2 weeks a year, and this happens to be one of them. it's not too bad though because it gives me time to catch up on my reading. everyone who likes christopher moore (both of you) needs to read "a dirty job". trust me, its a lot better than "the stupidest angel". i am reading "fluke" right now. i really like him. the only thing here worse than the rain is the toilet paper. ouch. the resort is cool. its all-inclusive, meaning all of the food/drinks/alcohol/other stuff is pre-paid for and therefore feels like it is free. it is probably a really good deal, because the place isn't THAT expensive. last night A.J. Brown, all the way from kingston, played live. apparently he is a pretty big deal 'round these parts. www.ajbrownmusic.com he was kinda cheesy but he had an amazing voice. he sang that boticelli song that's famous. he is even on itunes. there are always live bands and stuff at night though, which is cool. oh yeah, and the beach is on a marine wildlife sanctuary, so you can put on a mask and fins and swim out 200 yards and be at a coral reef with all kinds of colorful fish and anenomes and urchins and starfish. its really cool. also, montego bay is a huge port, and yesterday the largest cruise ship on earth docked here on its maiden voyage. it was gigantimous and very impressive. i'll put some pictures on facebook eventually. we did some other stuff too, but i won't write it on here because i doubt anyone will even have read this far. i should have put some paragraph spaces or something to make it more readable. anyone, i will be back in baton rouge on sunday, so i'll see everyone then. (okay, i probably won't see everyone, but it sounds nice to say that i will.)
