Well, I'm a day late...things have been busy though...I haven't really been on this thing too much. Anyhow, I wanted to tell you about my daughter Elizabeth. She's a wonderful girl to all who know her. She turned 18 yesterday...wow...talk about feeling like an old man........ Anyhow, in a few short days, she'll be taking a trip to England with the missions at our church. Man, can you think of a better present?! I mean wow...God really knows how to bless us! She's always wanted to visit Great Britain. How cool is that? They even get to take the Chunnel to Paris for a day! I also wanted to share something that my wife wrote yesterday in an email to all of our family:

"Today my #3 child turns 18. Somewhere around 7pm, I am not positive about the time, although I am sure of the time frame(haha). The reason I know is because Elizabeth came into this world on a Wednesday evening and there were people praying at our church in Astoria, Oregon for her safe arrival. We had no name picked out for her beforehand(I don't even remember discussing about one with Jim), but as she made her apperance, I took one look at her and asked Jim if we could name her Elizabeth Ann. He agreed! The Ann was after my Mother and Grandmother on my Dad's side..and the name Elizabeth I loved, and also one of my cousins had this name, and I always thought she was so pretty.
So once again our life was blessed with a beautiful little girl from God. She was nicknamed my "Noisy Nora"(the character in Children's book by the same name) as a toddler because as my third I had to let go of the fact that I could not control every move my children made. All the sudden I realized I had two hands and three children. She would dump out a bottle of shampoo on the bathroom floor, pull toilet paper off the roll as far as she could drag it, and put any kind of hat on her head and toddle around... she was into everything, just like Noisy Nora. She kept me on my toes and made me realize I could only do so much, I was going to have to rely on the Lord to take care of me and my little family because I could not do it all.
Today is a mile marker for her as she quickly approaches adulthood. She has proven to be quite a dreamer, with a personality for pursing whatever interests God has placed in her path. He has great things in store for her!! She challenges me in my own thinking and makes me realize there is nothing wrong with stepping out of the box sometimes to be a little different. She loves to step around altercations, she prefers to keep the peace. She can get upset, but she has a quiet way of being mad, and she gets over it quickly. She loves alone time in her room, and sometimes I think she lives out a secret life in books she types out. She is level headed and straight forward, she knows what she wants from her life.
What a blessing to my life she has been. Well just wanted to share these thoughts on paper with you all..as I count my blessings this morning. My third blessing is Elizabeth... so to her... "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"
Love you, Gina and Mom"
Cool huh?!
Well, Happy Birthday again Honey. I love you!
Love,
Dad<>
