Rain happened to have worked late at the Library yesterday, so when midnight struck and she turned into a deer, it didn't seem smart to try and head home. Not to mention that she couldn't manage the doorknobs with her hooves

[ Liam was quite often in the library, but, despite the last few months of unexpected surprises, even the deer in the library was a bit much. Carefully, bemusedly, he follows behind it. It was even helping all the people. What a curious creature indeed. ]
Deer Rain turned and while she couldn't smile at him, she did suck her head a bit, and then look at him curiously as if asking if she could help him somehow.
Urk, ducking behind a stack of books, Liam tried to pretend that he hadn't just been stalking or watching or even plain staring. Perhaps the deer was sentient after all. Such bad form of old Liam...
Ahem, there was nothing left for it. Creeping back out of the stack, Liam smiles tentatively, clutching onto his randomly chosen book. "My apologies, but I do believe I've never seen a deer in a library before. Do you often work here?"
He was starting to believe that nothing was impossible in this city. Absolutely nothing.
He's blushing as he tentatively accepts that card to inspect it. And she went to all that work to answer his question...
"Ah, thank-you! I--"
He fidgets. Seriously. He feels like such an idiot now for doubting. "I'm truly sorry for taking up your time. Would you like me to return this for you or..." He stops to consider things for a moment. "I could tie this on you if you'd like, so you don't have to interrupt your duties again."
With a bit of finesse, he should be able to do at least that much for the doe.
Deer Rain considered for a moment, then nodded, her short tail twitching happily. She ducked her head down so that her neck would be easier for him to reach.
He's still bemused at how easily and willingly she submits to his suggestion. He's used to arguments and teasing and getting pushed into closets and under desks. Not compliance (at least not from anyone who doesn't work directly beneath him).
"I"ll just..." He bites his lip and pulls out a small bit of ribbon from his pocket, threading it carefully through the card before tying it around her n looked, but even through the thin layer of his gloves, it was pleasantly so.
Resisting the urge to pat her neck, Liam smiles and takes a nervous step back.
"There, I'm finished. I'm afraid I must have interfered with your duties long enough. Is there any other way I can assist you?"
He stifled his laugh only because it would have only come out as a girlish giggle, but he smiles and gives a small bow.
"Then I shall take your leave, Miss."
And he will, if there are no other obstacles and go to write down in his book about the sentient deer working in the library. What a strange place this city was. It never failed to surprise him.
