[Rain's always looked much younger than she is. Which serves her well on the streets of Vegas. Not many people pay too much attention to, or worry much about a young, innocent looking street kid.

He nears Rain as he walks down the sidewalk, merely intending to pass her by, but he nods politely and flashes a smile.]

Oh! So sorry, sir!

Oh, that's quite alright, miss-
[And that's all he says, even as he reaches to grab her wrist as she rifles through his pockets, attempting with his own grip to make her drop the oddly decorative pocketknife he carries. Gilded and painted with a swan, it would fetch a pretty penny, but the value it carries for him is a bit more than that, and the force of his slender fingers are a fair demonstration of that. Still, he doesn't seem threatening.]
I'd like it if you didn't do that...

Oh, sorry, sir. My hand just slipped in there. I didn't mean - I wouldn't have taken anything from you!
[He's strong and even though he doesn't seem threatening, she's nervous. Pretty much nobody ever catches her. Not in a long time anyway.]

Right. I truly hope you would not...
[His eyes narrow with anger, but it's not really directed at her.]
For you to be so desperate would be unpleasant in this city... If not unexpected...

It's... a hard city sometimes, sir.

[He pauses, but he doesn't really have any need to think about it.]
If you use it to help the little ones you speak of, then I will be satisfied.

[For fifty dollars, she'd do it if he wanted, but oh, she hoped he didn't.]
The money will get them food and medicine. I won't use any of it for me, I swear.

No, I do not.
[He attempts a lighter tone.]
I am hardly going to object to you feeding yourself, as well as them.

Thank you. But they need more than me. With this I can maybe even get them some blankets and stuff too.

[He might have given something larger, but even a relatively wealthy man isn't going to carry that much on him. It gets even more dangerous than pickpockets at times.]
You are quite welcome.

You're a good man.
