Awww man. This was the first proper breakup!fic I read and good grief girl, you are doing it right! It's definitely a little strange to read your take on the situation, purely because it comes so close to how it realistically could have gone down? Strange in a great way, though.
Ryan's devolution is so ache-y and raw, I love how you've written his behavior and Brendon and Spencer's way of dealing with it. They go through such a rough time and god only knows how they manage to get through this one horridly frustrating situation, let alone do so with the added complication of their relationship. Which is totally UNFy by the way. Their sex scenes are definitely some of the hottest I've ever read. Their connection just makes everything infinitely more intense and you let that translate into their physical interaction really incredibly well.
I think my favorite part though is the band issue. Ryan and Brendon trying to write and be polite and having it all fall apart in their hands. It was really interesting to read it in a way that Spencer and Brendon just kind of didn't see Ryan's direction and thought it was totally strange that they weren't agreeing on the new songs. I guess I always imagined the break up process to be very ... constantly obvious? And you've written it as this slow almost unforseeable drift, it's lovely. I don't know if you meant to write Jon as kind of an asshole, but I read it that way and thoroughly enjoyed it, haha.
It must have taken you so long to write this EPIC, I'm really grateful that you did. It's one of the best pieces of Panic fic I've read in a really long time, thank you so much for writing and posting it! <3
