So, do all your families have some family friends you just can't ditch?
Guess what happened for dinner tonight? And a walk at magnuson, dessert, and two games. Goooooooooooooooooooooooooood GOD, I've never been so bored, or had such awkward, forced conversations, in a long, long time. It was absolutely horrible. And anyway, why exactly do we need to be polite and invite them? I mean, we had Christmas together every year for as long as I can remember, and then we stopped inviting them because we knew nobody enjoyed it, but nobody wanted to offend the other. So we'd already offended them as much as we were going to, and it wasn't that this had a precedent, either, as we hadn't seen them outside of Christmas for YEARS.
In other news, remember that kayak I was building, or at least in name? Well, I've gotten back to it, and I'm pretty close to glassing the hull. Which scares the hell out of me, as it is the first truly permantent thing I'm doing, and it is so easy to mess up. And it will look like shit if I have air bubbles or if I can't wet it out, plus there are all of the normal hazards of working with epoxy. But, at least I'll have to wait a bit to do that-first I have a bit of final details on the keel.
Anyway, that was gibberish to all y'all.
Not too much news here though. Amazed that rereading "the things they carried" for the...maybe fourth time?...I'm actually enjoying it. Don't worry, I would read other things, only it's required for Whitman, and since I have to reread it sometime in the remaining three weeks that I'm home, I think I'll do it now. Plus I'm strangely not too enticed by anything else lately...
Oh-to Mary and Margret: Going to Ramblewood? If so, what are you doing?
