My Visit with Josephine @ Run Amok
Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting with Josephine Aurbierre of Run Amok. Her shop features delicious low prim furniture & accessories perfect for your trashy trailer or urban grunge warehouse. Her initial inspiration was decorating her own trailer home, so she knows what matters to us. She also does tattoos & buildings, & runs The Pampered Slave.
In the SL search its listed as ~*~Run Amok~*~ with the following description: "Decrepit Furniture,Custom Tattoos, Custom Brands, Custom Shapes Weird and Classical Artwork, trailer, white trash, UFOs, Low-Prim TVs, Radios, Turntables, Hot tubs, Beds, Weekly Free Prize Drawing, Pool, More on SLX"
We started off with a dip in her filthy pool. Just 5p including the inner tube & water full of swirling trash. Can't beat that with a stick, now can you? You can lounge in the inner tube or float in the water, so plenty of room for friends (just don't forget the cold beer!).
From here it was an easy jump to the UFO flying around overhead. Aliens love trailer parks! If you flew all this way searching for interesting life forms, where would you go - a trailer park or the suburbs? Clearly you want to find the people who know how to party! At only 4p these guys are ready to fly over your trailer threatening your neighbors, or enticing them depending on their proclivities. There is also a 3p crashed version. It's a half ship that sits in the side of your home spewing flames. (She came up with this version to shake up her neighbors after the other one had been flying around for a while. Judging by the number of IMs she got that day it worked.)
With that out of the way, you can't miss the giant Chutes & Ladders board spread out. The board itself is 1p & comes with dice. You move around the board as your own game piece. Wouldn't that be some fun with a few naked friends & some tequila??
After that action, you can cool your heels on one of the grungy sofas in front of the TV. She has a selection of sofas propped up on crates (the brown sofa has biohazard waste & medical marijuana for 7p & the black & white has medical marijuana & Old English 800 at 8p, depending on whether you're a player or a mutant! If you're a mutant player I recommend getting both.)
The TV has a double set of classic antennae, the rabbit ears & the hoop, & comes standard with 5 different images for the screen & 13p. My favorite is Good Times, but there's HR Pufnstuf if you have kids or are really high. By request she can even add a media screen for streaming video.
Over in this corner is her bed with 5p, several c&s anims, & your choice of several flavorful style options. Right now the bed is undergoing some tweaking, but she expects to have it back for sale next week. Next to that is the turntables & speakers set. It has 6p in the set & streams your choice of 38 stations. In her Pampered Slave store she also offers the same streaming choices in a 1p vase.
She has several posters available around her shop too. Many of them are changeable, so you can change up your art with a click. The Last Supper has 3p, 31 pic options, & more ways of changing the frame up. The pics include fandoms such as Star Wars, BSG, Justice League, X-Men, etc. She also has 1p changeable posters for B-Movies & Funny Posters (which includes Family Guy, woo hoo!), & 1p static posters.
She does custom tatoo & branding work, & has a selection ready-made in her store. Each comes with several layers, & her work includes hand drawn & digitally drawn.
From here you can tp to her buildings. She has several versions of her 6p photo studio, complete with many different backgrounds, women's poses, &lighting. She's working on a men's & couples' versions. There's also her 50p 3story warehouse & the 30x30 industrial skybox with 42p. Her skybox also comes in several non-trashy versions (Hello Kitty!)
(Look, I'm a model! I had fun with the photo studio both days, lol. I threw in a few pics I didn't use otherwise in the slide show too.)
She enjoys doing custom work, & can do anything it seems! She builds & scripts, does shapes, she even put together her own AO (which I had to comment on because it is so bouncy & playful!) And keeping her prices reasonable is important to her.
