haha... "Milk Toast"

Growing up in PA, we would call the boring, shy, super white girls "milk toast" .. Like they have no umpf.. Think of milk soaked toast. (I think it is a mid atlantic reagion saying, people here is LA have never heard it either).

Most likely America will adopt some sort of "universal" health care by the time we are old.. At least I hope so. Since we are both self employed, our health plan is "don't get sick". We have dentist that works for mineral specimens and fossils.

For bigger things we go out of the country for care. (in many cases it is cheaper to fly to Mexico, Brazil, Namibia, South Africa or some other country, have the procedure, and then take a vacation too)

But many people still see socialized health care as "welfare". Justin's dad always says "I don't want to pay for someone else's medical bills".. He's a Maryland Republican.. but he represents a large part of the country..

I just think that a lot of the population, doesn't have their heads focused as to it being not just morally right, but also a fiscally sound plan deal with rising costs a sick population costs EVERYONE.

But that being said... Taxes are REALLy high in Canada, and everything is MAD expensive there. However, if you lived there, and were getting the benefits of the services, it would be totally worth it. Coming in as a visitor, the difference really adds up, especially after the first couple weeks..

Personally... Justin and I want to live in Namibia, Africa for part of the year... They are Communist, and the exchange rate is $1 to 7 Rand.. (we want to set up a mining operation in one of the rural villages).. Very civilized, no crime.. it was colonized by the Germans and people from the Netherlands..

:)
