Well, well....
I guess it's my turn to offer my advice/opinions/condolences to the Madison Central Band...so, um, here it goes:
I didn't watch too many shows this year, but from what I did see your improvement was absolutely amazing. Congratulations on all of your hard work and dedication. You had a very hard show and a ridiculously competitive class...14 bands dogging it out for 2 spots, basically. And even despite all of your setbacks, you managed to pull a 6th place in the state out of it...and while it isn't a championship title like you may've gotten accustomed to, it's still a damned good placement and absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. I'd be pretty proud of myself. However, I will go so far as to say "You reap what you sow."
To the seniors of the band: I can't imagine the hurt and disappointment you must have felt on Saturday. Your band would have never made it as far as they did had it not been for you guys. I know it hurts, but try not to let it hurt too much. You have a very promising concert season approaching very quickly, and you're going to be absolutely amazing. And you get to go to the really prestigious thing...so go kick even more ass there and have a blast with it.
