The letter was on the computer screen when she came in; the little box flashing to get her attention. As she wandered over to it the barefoot girl cocked her head to the side... “International Insomniac Society...” She tapped a finger on the screen for a few minutes; going meant leaving the small little apartment. Leaving the small little apartment meant people could see her, people seeing her meant they would know her... She thought for a few seconds... it would seem like such a small thing to other people, she gently ran her hand over Sampson's coarse fur the dog standing almost as tall as she was. Sampson was good, he understood her and she understood him. He gave her a quirked brown and a cocked head; "You are going to leave me here aren't you?" The peculiar girl looks down at him, "I have to you will get held in qua...ran… tine if I don't, that doesn’t sound fun, I will be gone little time. Short short. You can make yourself sandwiches." With that the dog gave a small affirmative and lowered his head to read the computer screen. She chuckled at the dog. She looked to her clothes grabbing a few of the small dresses she smiled, taking the purple combat boots and slipping them on her feet. She would go to the airport, and Sampson would guard the fort. It was decided just like that.
She took a breath and as the plane took off she wondered if this was a good idea... she could hear all the brains of the people on the plane with her- none of them seemed happy, all were scared and worried. At least she talked to Elias before she left he would be there and wanted to escort her. She bit at her lip... that was nice. She should tell him thank you later. There were actually a lot of things she had to tell him thank you for. She sat there for a moment thinking her mind far away almost locking itself away again in memories.
Her foot stepped off the plane and she felt the warm soft presence of other minds in hers, like a squishy warm blanket and cocoa. She made sure to ignore the hard angry voices; the ones she made sure no one could hear. She pushed down far away- the angry voices she heard that yelled and screamed, no need to scare everyone with them. Enough people would be scared of her anyway. She looked out over the sunglasses a bit and hoped that she remembered the right trick to make them normal to sleepers.... she moved to the shuttle bus to take her to the hotel, the soothing voices in her head making the trip easier... She wished she would have known that more of the family would be there, she would have made sure to bring... hell she wasn't sure what she should have brought but she vaguely remembered when you see people you haven't seen in a long time you were supposed to bring a gift. Gifts... she shuddered a bit... shopping... Christmas, a flood of nausea hit her like a punch straight to the gut... too many people she felt like she was choking... then it passed the memory subsided.
She walked in with 'Lias and saw all the pretty people and they saw her, some recognized her and some didn't some trembled... she was always confused by that response. "Why let me know you were frightened? Why give me power?" People fear what they don't understand. And fear her they should. Her episodes came less often now, much less often, but sometimes she wondered if that was just a sign that the next one would be worse than the first....
