We're havin' havin' havin' havin' fun but something something tells me I miss someone.

Yesterday I woke up 15 minutes before the study session for chemistry was going to start so I left my house with my hair a mess and without breakfast. So after enduring an hour and a half of chemistry for no apparent reason, I found out that my dad was at my dance studio getting tickets for my recital and there was some meeting going on so I had no ride. I could've just asked Billy to drive me the five minutes to my house or even to the dance studio, but, regardless of the fact that I am almost 18 and soon off to college, my dad still holds me to the "No driving with friends" rule. So. I sat there for 20 minutes until I started to panic slightly and then decided to take off and walk down Landover, chemistry books and all. It was fantastic. Fortunately, my dad met me about half way there.

SO TODAY was my grandfather's birthday and his favorite restaurant is Golden Corral which is, coincidentally, one of the most hellish restaurants that ever did exist. I absolutely loathe it because it's basically a place where a bunch of hungry, angry old people go to eat a lot and complain about everything. My grandpa just likes it because it's a buffet and because he gets a lot of special attention from the workers there. Maybe he tips well or something, I've never really noticed. As much as I hate the place, once in awhile I have no choice but to keep my mouth shut and deal with it and today was one of those days. There were 9 of us all together: my grandparents, my parents, various great-aunts and uncles, and me. We walk in and my grandmother attempts to pay so my mother and my aunt get upset and are arguing with her over the bill. That leaves my dad and I to figure out the drink situation. [Cue slight chaos.] Ten minutes later, after backing up the line, we have our drinks and now it's time to find a seat. My grandfather keeps asking about one waitress, Judy, because he wants her to be our server. Well we find her and she's conveniently located in the area that has no large tables. Regardless, we put two tables together and sandwich ourselves in. Probably not even half-way into the meal, my grandmother looks up to see that the ceiling is dripping. On her. Bad. So she moves her seat over and now everyone is complaining that they feel suffocated. My mother gets annoyed enough to move to a nearby table and my grandmother and father follow. I got up to get something to eat and when I came back the tables were now positioned in an "L" shape so we could sit together as a family. Blahblahblah. One of the waitresses put a bucket underneath the water but that didn't help much. [Cue lots of complaining.] Then! the dripping got really bad and it started to get my aunt wet (the bitchiest aunt when it comes to eating out) so she just about flipped out and we had to move the tables again so that we had two sitting lengthwise, pretty much how we started out, but facing a different direction. After a few minutes, the water started hitting a different table and then would hit our table again, further infuriating my family members. So we had to rearrange things just a bit, again. Eventually we ate cake and everything was happy, especially for me because all I did was take pictures of everything (including every table arrangment and the bucket) and laugh at everyone the entire time. Because that's what I'm trying to do now - just laugh everything off.
