Who want to go see Anthony Rapp on Wednesday?!
Star of musical “Rent” to speak at UFFiled under Campus on Monday, January 9, 2006. GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Anthony Rapp, star of the musical “Rent” and author of “Without You,” will speak at the University of Florida at 8 p.m. Jan. 25 at the Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. The doors will open at 7:15 p.m. and the speech is free and open to the public. After the speech, Rapp will sign books.
Rapp is best known for originating the role of Mark Cohen in the Tony Award-winning rock opera, “Rent.” A musical about Bohemians in the East Village of New York City, Rent explores the struggle with life, love and AIDS, and the impacts they have on America. He recently completed filming “Rent,” which was released by Sony Pictures in November 2005 and has received rave reviews.
Rapp’s book titled, “Without You: A Memoir of Love, Loss, and the Musical “Rent” “discusses his experiences with “Rent” and personal struggle with losing his mother to cancer.
