Okay, so in my search for a new anti-frizz product (which I never did find that original article I read), I found all these website talking about going curly and refining, rearranging, readjusting - call it what you will - your hair care arsenal and daily routine in order to embrace your curly hair. I am so there.
Today I followed my normal (aka OLD) routine and it greatly irked me to do so. But I really wanted to be able to take some before pictures for comparison purposes. So here ya go, I'll share with you my progress.
Day 1, Saturday August 15:
Shampoo and condition with Aussie Cleanse and Mend. Towel dry, wrap in a microfiber turban while I dry off and get dressed. Comb through with a wide tooth comb. Flip head over, scrunch in quarter-sized amount of Pantene Smoothing Creme or ADVANCE TECHNIQUES Dry Ends Serum. Then scrunch in palm full of ADVANCE TECHNIQUES Volumizing Mousse. Flip head back up, shake hair to settle into place, fluff bangs.
Day 2, Sunday August 16 Monday, August 17:
Shampoo with Colorgen Color Saving Shampoo. (No, my hair isn't colored, but the only sulfate-free shampoos I could find were "designed for" color-treated hair.) Condition **edit: let sit for about 10 minutes in my hair** and cold water rinse with GVP Tea Tree Oil Conditioner. **edit: the conditioner smells SOOOOO yummy!! ** Squeeze dry to remove excess water, then gently work in Hask Placenta Hot Creme Leave In Hair Treatment. Tuck hair in a shower cap and wrap head in a hot damp towel for 30 minutes. Flip hair over and gently scrunch in (using a proper scrunching technique) smoothing creme and mousse. Clump and twist curls together for more definition. ** edit: Instead of doing all that, I held the 100% cotton fabric in my hands and gently gathered my upside hair in my hands and scrunched it against my head to draw out some of the excess water. Drippy hair on my back drives me absolutely bonkers. I very gently flipped my hair back and leaning backwards, shook out the curls to "normal".** Pineapple hair on top of head with loose scrunchy to help protect it while sleeping.
**edit: I'm currently sitting here in my chair with my laptop on the stand in front of me reading while Andy plays his PS3 game, although it's well past bedtime. My back is hurting b/c I'm sitting up straight, away from the soft squishy cushions so as not to flatten the curls while they're drying. I still plan on pineapple-ing my hair before bed tonight, and stopped at the store tonight for new scrunchies. Mine are rather old and worn out seeing that I rarely wear them anymore. I didn't add anything to it tonight b/c I didn't think about it, I want the treatment to do it's job and I was curious to see what it would look like tomorrow. LOL I'd offer to share pictures of the "wet" look with you, but I'm in my jammies and even though it's just shorts and a tee, that's not a picture I'm willing to share. *grins*
Day 3, Monday August 17 Tuesday, August 18:
Remove scrunchy and shake out hair. Mist with water and gently scrunch to refresh curls.
Okay, so there's the plan. Monday Tuesday I'll share more pictures and we'll see if it looks any different.
