In my last entry I mentioned the pendants I saw that were casts of 18th/19th Century wax seals. The one I ordered on Etsy from
BFlirty Jewelry arrived today, and while it is smaller than I expected, it's beautiful and delicate. I can see myself wearing this on the chains I wear every day (two plain David Yurman chains). The image is of a ship with the words "Such Is Life." If only it said "So It Goes;" that would be even more of a perfect fit considering my love for Vonnegut.
Here is Bella modeling the pendant on one of my Yurman chains, and a close up of the pendant:
While I was shooting Bella (that sounds horrible, but you know what I mean) I caught this funny one (she was eating a Milk Bone):
Bella will probably feature a lot in this blog...I just don't feel like taking pictures of myself. She's a pretty good sport. Here are a couple more:
The view from my mother's room. Winter is still in crappy, full force. Complete with freezing rain.
I spoke to my sister this past weekend. She has been in Paris for a semester abroad for about a week and a half. She has her own studio apartment, which is converted servants' quarters, and it's an 8 floor walk-up! She doesn't seem to mind...So far she seems to enjoy shopping for food, and likes an organic brand named
Bjorg. My brother is currently teaching English near Seoul, Korea. His contract goes until July, but he is going to try and meet up with our father and I when we go to see my sister in Paris at the end of her semester. Then hopefully we will go to Norway for a couple weeks, the first time for all us kids.
Speaking of travel, I am finally visiting Chicago again this weekend, so see my buddy Holly (see what I did there?) and La Roux in concert. It will be nice to get away, even though the weather isn't any better than here in the Twin Cities.
À bientôt!
