So I got to see Sleepytime Gorilla Museum live and it fucking rocked. There's no good way to describe this band, perhaps experimental/victorian/death metal will suffice? It was probably one of the best live shows I've ever seen; their music is great but the performance art in the show is by far the most entertaining part. There was a lot of political commentary mixed in with nursery rhymes, boys wearing dresses, old-timey humor, a pretty goth girl violinist, electric spleens, pleas for the apocalypse to return, and even an ode to cockroaches. Oh yes, and a dancing guy who also hung from the ceiling, swung on ropes, and wore a gas mask. I've got to hand it to the goth scene, we sure know how to party like its 1899. Oooh! We even got little pamphlets with the lyrics so we could sing along:

Processional and Salutation

Spoilers of the Starry Night, run to the fields to seek the wrath of the po-faced cormorant. Subject your skin to the justice of swooping hawks.
Death by Air!
Drainers of the Well, curlers of the tongue, release your grasp on the stein and plunge mightily into your moist, untidy grave.
Death by Water!
Gropers of the Soil, unhand your scythes and bury your faces in the cool wet garden, replacing air with dirt, breath with stifling mud.
Death by Earth!
Bold Emperors of Line and Plane, shed your protective sheaths to dance amongst the crumbling staircases and doorways of your once-secure homes.
Death by Fire!
