Mafia!verse thoughts
So I've spent most of the weekend thinking about how to work the Mafia!verse and I think I've got some ideas.
Timeline 1: Pre-Caesar's Death
Caesar is rising in power, working to make the Julli the strongest of the known crime families. However, this task is being made difficult by a number of factors. First are the authorities (Pompey and the like) who are looking to take him down once and for all, second is a rival family (Brutus, Servillia, and the like) looking to take Caesar's power, and third is the dissension in his own family. Livia being his only child, Caesar is, of course, looking to leave everything in her hands one day. However, he worries about dumping it on her alone and he does want to see her taken care of -- so he begins talk to have her married to his second in command, Antony. However, little does he know that Antony is already sleeping with his niece. And Atia is not looking to give up her lover or her power to her cousin anytime soon. After all, wouldn't it make more sense for Livia to marry her son -- they were close as children and it keeps everything in the family. And all the power near her. But no. Caesar is firm, Livia will marry Antony.
Timeline 2: Post Death, With Antony
Caesar is dead and Antony and Livia are out for revenge, the latter having all but declared war on those who murdered her father. This leads the two of them to seek an alliance with the Ptolomy family and their reigning head, Cleopatra. A woman who has her own reasons for entering into this relationship. And of course, with Caesar gone, Atia sees this as a time for her to gain power. A lot of this timeline would depend on Antony's player and what they would want to do with him. Would he stay and help them murder EVERYONE or would he go to Cleopatra.

Caesar is dead and everything has fallen to Livia, who is now in charge of the family. Antony has fled -- whether it is to drum up alliances or because he feared he would be next is unknown. All anyone knows is that Livia is doing her best to stay afloat with only Vorenus and Pullo to trust. Sure, Atia says she is there for her cousin, but she's just waiting for her opportunity to take control and set her son up as the one in power.
