Yay!! Other Republican Jews!!!

I am so excited right now. I'm jewish and republican, but my entire family is quite liberal. I've always been given the impression that to be jewish and republican is a contradiction of values, which made it very difficult to feel that i could truly belong to a religious group that defied all the values I strongly believed in. But today I discovered the Republican Jewish Coalition - and there are chapters all over the place!! Finally I can be sure that I am not a freak of jewish nature, but in fact I share my opinions with a number of other people. And no, I don't need others to agree with me for me to believe what i believe, but it's difficult to feel a part of a jewish community when the only political message I ever received was a liberal one, which pushed me away. This doesn't bring me any closer idealogically to my own family, but at least it makes me feel that i could become closer to a community of Jews, which i have felt was very lacking in my life.

Since most of my friends who will read this aren't Republican I imagine my excitement will not flow over much, but who cares...I'M excited!!

Gotta do some work now.
