A new door has opened...
and that door, my friends, is Buffy the Vampire Slayer. While many years behind, I have in my possession five seasons' worth of this seemingly magical product, which at this rate I'll be done watching tomorrow. I plan on spreading it out a bit more than that, but it's 8 in the morning and I haven't gone to sleep yet. It was 2:30 when I was looking through my nearly 400 DVDs and not wanting to watch ANY OF THEM.
So...I finally tore off the plastic on Season One. And while I'm aware that this is not generally considered the best of the best in Buffy circles, it is a critical step, and one I have fully enjoyed thus far. I watched the first six episodes, and while the giant praying mantis deal was a bit overdone,...there's still something to be said about a show that is willing to involve a giant praying mantis in its plot. I loved the first two episodes hardcore. Just finished watching The Pack, which I thought was pretty cool. The Witch thing wasn't too bad either, but that and Teacher's Pet would be at the bottom of the six I just watched. May I also say I absolutely loathed Owen. It upset me to see Buffy all starry-eyed for some goofy bastard. And not a good one. In closing, in The Pack, at the beginning when these kids make fun of Buffy...am I missing something? At what school does the cutest girl get made fun of?
