So for an update, my school is getting increasingly gay. The comm squadron has now blocked myspace, youtube, pandora, metacafe, and a whole bunch of other sites. In addition, the Powers that be (hereafter referred to as PTB) have decided that the way to improve the performance and morale of the wing is to restrict people, hold on the spot SAMIs, put into place new, harsher punishments, and generally treat us more like second graders than officer candidates. Now I'm not saying that it won't produce decent officers in the end, but the general consensus out here is there has got to be a better way to do this if they would just step out of their little "logic sterilized environment" and listen to the Management department, the people with Phd's in Behavioral Science and Leadership, and ohmygosh, the people you're supposedly asking for feedback from, maybe some of the changes you implement will actually be effective!
In other news, I've been reading the book "What Color is a Conservative?" by JC Watts. It's a pretty good book about the life, values and politics of the first African American to hold a Republican Party leadership position. Next on the list after that is "The Enemy at Home: The Cultural Left and Its Responsibility for 9/11" by Dinesh D'Souza. I'm looking forward to that, I heard him speak two weeks ago at our National Character and Leadership Symposium out here and he had some really interesting points.
Other than that, just the regular school stuff going on. Classes are kicking my butt, but I'm surviving. Working out a lot, hoping not to get kicked out of school, and playing lots of racquetball, so any takers are welcome.
But that's it for now, hope everything is going well for everyone else. Laters
