You wait for ages for some news to arrive and then it all comes along at once. Instead of making separate posts I've put together a few interesting chunks of news.
Mata interest confirmed
Valencia winger Juan Mata is wanted by clubs outside Spain, his father and agent has confirmed.
Mata is understood to be attracting strong interest from Arsenal, while Liverpool are also believed to be keen on the Spain international.
Mata has admitted he is not looking to leave Los Che, who will be playing UEFA Champions League football next season, but it has now been revealed that tentative approaches have been made.
Mata's father, Juan senior, admitted that Valencia will now decide whether to part with the gifted youngster, who is currently on a break after his international commitments.
He is quoted as saying in the Daily Mirror: "There have been calls from foreign clubs - but now the final decisions rests with Valencia and he is on his holidays."
LFC.tv via Sporting Life and Daily Mirror I'm pretty certain this is the man that convinced Reina to stay put. Either way I want him. Joe Cole, start packing so we can give this man the number 10 shirt as soon as we see him wheeling his luggage along at LPL arrivals.
Flanagan signs new contract
Defender John Flanagan today signed a new long-term contract at Liverpool.
The 18-year-old and his family were at Melwood to finalise the deal on Friday lunchtime.
It comes after Flanagan impressed during seven first-team appearances at the end of 2010-11.
NB: Andre Wisdom also signed a new contract.

New signings Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam have had their squad numbers confirmed.
Former Sunderland star Henderson will wear the No.14 shirt while Jay Spearing has agreed to hand over his No.26 jersey to midfielder Adam.
Spearing will now wear the No.20 shirt while Maxi Rodriguez has switched shirts from No.17 to No.11.
LFC.tv Henderson's number 14. No pressure. PS: Can we have tags for him and Flanagan?

Liverpool are believed to have paid a cash sum of around £7m for Charlie Adam. No players involved.
It's all very confusing.
