Dalglish urges Cole caution.

With Steven Gerrard likely to be absent from the Liverpool team to take on Sparta Pargue in tonight’s Europa League last-32 second-leg tie, creative impetus will fall upon Joe Cole.

The talented playmaker is likely to start for the first time under Kenny Dalglish, the game representing an opportunity to rebuild his Anfield career which has hitherto not gone to plan.

Nevertheless, Kenny Dalglish is urging Liverpool fans to be patient with Cole, reasoning that his prolonged injury absence means he will need time to regain his best form.

“Even hot water takes time to come through; so for Joe, it’s not fair for us to judge him right now,” Dalglish told The Guardian. “He is enthusiastic and he is talented, and we will try to get the best out of him.”
