So, anyone else been watching the Iraq men's soccer team? If you're curious, I keep my profile on AIM updated with the team's latest scores. Anyway, they're through to the elimination stages after beating Portugal 4-2, and then beating Costa Rica 2-0. It's uncertain as to whether they'll be first or second in the group (if Portugal wins and Iraq loses, Iraq could be second in the group on goal differential (but it's +4 for Iraq and -1 for Portugal right now so that's unlikely). Iraq didn't play too well against Costa Rica (nowhere near as well as they played in their first game), but they managed to win 2-0 nonetheless (they were a bit lucky too).
The U.S. men's basketball team managed to lose to Puerto Rico today. At least they're not eliminated yet. I do have to wonder how Puerto Rico can compete in the games since they're a U.S. territory...
