(no subject)
Anyone know of any coffee shops in Livermore that are hiring and will allow piercings/tattoos/funky hair colors? Being able to wear whatever I want (within reason) is a plus, but not entirely necessary. (Benefits are good, too) I figure Panama Red is a good pick, but I'm sure they're swamped with applications all the time. Any other options?
I work at a Starbucks right now and I love the atmosphere of the job (coffee shop, etc). What I do not love is the fact that my nose piercing closed up because they won't even let me wear a piercing retainer while I'm working (thus not enabling me to have it repierced), the fact that I can't wear more than two sets of earrings while I'm on the floor, I can't have tattoos showing and I can't do anything interesting to my hair. It's not a HUGE deal in the grand scheme of things...but it IS rather annoying. I'm pretty into body modification and I thought that a coffeeshop would be accepting of that. Not Starbucks, evidently. I really want a job that I can stay at for a long time without feeling like I have to give up my identity to work there -I've worked at the Bux for a year and I'm not really into switching jobs (I like consistency), but I'm starting to become really unhappy.
I may sound picky, but I know there are jobs like this out there and I want to be in one of them.
