I am sunburned. I am slightly hungover. Slightly tired. BUT I'M BACK. (Fuck. Work on Monday. Oh noes)
I got an early and a slightly easier flight home for early this morning because, quite frankly, I was not sitting in Barajas airport for 5 hours this afternoon only to sit in Bilbao another 3. No.
ANYWAY. Here goes all that happened. I didn't take my camera though wyndchime is back from England later today so I shall nick her Liverpool-y ones.
Monday: ALOT of driving. Though my uncle Danny let me drive half of the M6 XD I love driving on motorways, need for speed etc. So yeh, we were in the outside lane the entire time because Jas doesn't like going slow :P There were massive amounts of traffic on the motorway coming into Liverpool, Wigan, Manchester and the sorts so my uncle took over the wheel again because I was getting "frustrated" :P (also known as "HURRY THE FUCK UP")
Getting into Liverpool was nightmare. I've only ever driven into off the motorway once but I've been with Steve and my dad loads of times they did so I was directing the uncle.
However whenever I shout " STAY RIGHT " he apparently takes that as meaning " GO LEFT " So yeah we ended up in Kirkby :P
We got to the centre finally though. Theou'y booked the Premier Apartments in Hatton Garden. Fuck me. They are nice. Expensive. But very very nice.
Tuesday: SO MUCH FUN. With the parade and all the stuff in the city for the 800th birthday. The band in Williamson Square doing Beatles songs were brilliant. And the bloke going about on the piano dressed as a nun was dead funny. Got my new white away shirt "Carra 23" on the back. I was going to get Dirk but I changed my mind at the last minute.
THE MATCH!!! :
One of the most beautiful displays at Anfield I've seen and been part of. It was so reverant when they played Z-Cars. I expected a few first class prats to start booing or something but I didn't hear any. And the singing of You'll Never Walk Alone was so brilliant. It was wonderful to be apart of.
The match itself; to be honest I didn't expect much. Parts of the first were a bit boring, I ended up watching the subs warming up some of the time. The team Rafa put out showed just how awful Toulouse were. Liverpool missed alot of chances though. Crouchy and his awry headers. Glad he got a goal though. And Sami!! I actually saw 3 of the 4 goals (the ones at the Kop end) because that's where we were sat.
Random points:
- I love the Luis Garcia song. Some bloke got that going and it went on for ages.
- Masch's new song is brill too. The tune is the start of Seven Nation Army.
- Speaking of Mascherano. I fell in love with him that match. He was excellent. And he can run! I was not aware he could run that fast! Atheltic little monster.
- Haha. Momo .... "SHOOOOOOOT" XD
- "WE'VE GOT THE BEST MIDFIELD IN THE WOOORLD" << That is a classy song. "WE'VE GOT XABI ALONSO, MOMO SISSOKO, GERRARD AND MASCHERANOOOOOOOOO"
- "Oh Campione. The one and only." << BRILLIANT song too.
- I couldn't tell the difference between Lucas and Torres when they were warming up. Stupid long haired blondies.
- Finnan and Pennant are quite amusing "warming up". Lazy gits XD They hardly did anything. They spent a good ten minutes standing beside each other talking and watching the game whilst stretching their quads XP
- Speaking of Finnan. Why did Rafa send him to warm up within the first like 5 minutes? Puzzled me that
- In conclusion. Activities before the match were wonderful. It showed a city united despite the colour of their jerseys. There isn't much I hate more than Everton but there is a time and a place when football rivalry should be placed aside.
